We have Eleanor Robinson in running, her resume on the DUV website looks superhuman. Literally won every race listed for years. Serena is a one-trick pony by comparison. Her power is iconic & influential, but also relatively easy for a new generation to match. Now every young tennis player is Serena-like, but without endless self-reference, hateful diatribe against officials during matches & a much greater commitment to training.

Andreescu already has the injury bug. Serena has for years gone against younger versions of herself. They fade away and she's still here. That's why she's the best ever. She might not be a nice person but she's the G.O.A.T.

Everett continued to play until age 35 and I assume she was still trying to win. Most players continue their career past the point where they can still win majors
People are here are mocking her for not winning majors, but making it to the final is a great achievement and especially so for some in their mid to late 30's.
I don't know the "panic room" story, but it has nothing to do with how well she plays.

Serena was first ranked in the top 10 in 1999. In the 20 years since she has won 23 majors and been ranked in the top world 10 over 750 weeks. She's the GOAT. Her loss to B yesterday wasn't so bad. The 19 year old played very well.
Serena though is a legend with a tremendous body of work at the top of a very competitive sport for 2 decades.
