I've asked the people giving out splits in London and didn't receive a clear answer. They're still running, and they don't show up on the leaderboard, but I've been told by Tim Hutchings that it's part of their contract that they have to drop out of the race.
Was it part of their contract that they actually had to "pace" the main women's group?
Really really bad coverage. It'a a shame it's so painful to watch marathons.

On the BBC broadcast it sounded like "they will only be paid (their pacemaking contract's money) if they drop out but they can't be DQ'ed". So I guess that means if Jepkosgei keeps going and wins, she won't get pacemaker money but the winner's prize (which is obviously much larger)?
I thought they were assigned paces, not people.
The Bbc coverage is so bad. I’ve been watching for 15 minutes and I’ve seen approx 2 1/2 minutes of elite athletes running. I’ve seen plenty of people dressed as sheep and lots of shots of a brass band though, and listened to Steve Cram and Adele repeatedly ask each other if they run with music and talking about it being cloudy.
I’d been watching for 10 minutes before any shots of the men’s race were shown at all.
Why don't the wheelchair racers have pacers like the men's and women's racers do?
i hav on my desk 2 chronos that istarted ,when they will cross any km mark i check ther split .4 moment i keep them 4 myself ,analyze ,etc.....
