LOL, you're actually using the word 'dastardly' now to describe the British. You've reached the point of being beyond parody.

Regarding the 'misquote' this might be a cultural thing (ie. between pc feminism and traditional values). The Guardian is the most leftwing and pc newspaper in the Western world. Haile's quote does strongly imply that Mo sexually assaulted an athlete, in which case, the view in the UK would be 'what difference does it make whether she was married or not?' I'm not PC, but I'm not sure myself what difference it makes if a woman 'attacked' by Mo is married or not, unless you belong to a society which regards any woman not married by 17 to be 'loose'.

To conclude from this 'misquote' that the British establishment is protecting Mo from doping charges shows your level of reasoning. There's not much the British can do when 'Brit' Mo chooses to spend half his life in a part of East Africa which is notorious for having even less anti-doping testing than Kenya.

I have lost lots of respect for Mo. Even if it was all true exactly as he says, why be a tosser in the press conference. I think he's fallen in love with himself.

How much does it cost to have a pacer for the workout?

It costs approximately 7 dollars. This is what you pay the hotel. The runner maybe gets half of it. You end up giving extra tips to the runner.

They will do any type of training. When I was there the range was from a hard track session to a long run in a place 2h away from the hotel location.

One of the sessions was a long run of 20 miles. Left the Hotel at 5h30, started to train around 7h30, finished like 10h or so and got back to the hotel at around noon. Invited the runner to have lunch with me, he refused. I thought the reason was because he was not allowed to have lunch with Guests, so spoke with the Hotel manager who finally agreed for me to pay him lunch. He still refused to go without telling me why. Finally I understood. He was waiting for another runner to pace him for another 20 km. The guy barely ate during the 20 miles with me. Did not want the gels, barely had water. He covered over 30 miles in a regular saturday, with 4 hours of driving (someone else was driving, but still...).

And he was one of the kindest persons I knew in Ethiopia. Nice, humble, happy.

Idiot, the hotel reported it to the police as soon as it was reported to them, call me old fashioned, but to me it seems like they did the right thing.

If anything was done incorrectly, then it could be argued that Haile was in the wrong for using his influence to get Mo off with the police over the married athletes complaint, seems the MeToo movement isn't so strong over there.

Watching the last minute of that vid, my gut feel is that Mo brought up the robbery as an attempt to get back at Haile for not pandering to him.

"he beat the athletes coz he though they were copying his training

It happened before the theft (early february).The athlete was a guy and Mo beat him in front of his wife, which as you can imagine is humiliating. That was why they wanted to sue him, but Haile convinced them to drop charges thinking Mo's status"

How has this been discussed this much already and I'm the first person to ask who this guy is who he apparently attacked? Did the victum want it to be kept anonomous? I'd like to see how the fight actually started because it is hard to imagine Mo just going up to someone and attacking him? I won't to know the story behind the attack.

Great article. The more that comes out, the worse it gets for Farah. Had he just kept his mouth shut at the press conference it's likely none of this would have come out. Serves him right. I hope he gets heckled mercilessly during the race.

Also the other reason many of the reporters (including myself) were only asking Mo questions is because they said before the press conference that Farah would not be available for one-on-one interviews after the press conference. Eliud was available for those.

Husband and wife accidentally came upon Mo's PED stash at Haile's hotel. Mo flew into a fit of roid rage and started punching and kicking them. The Police were called. Haile became concerned because he was aware that the hotel was used as a PED haven by Mo and many other top Ethio distance runners. Haile pursuaded the Police to drop charges and move along as there nothing much to see at his hotel.

Yeah. We were wrong to suspect a sexual assault yet, somehow, this seems even worse. Why would beat up a guy for copying your training? And I’m mad at Haile for covering for his bad behaviour all those times. If he hadn’t protected him, these would have come up long ago. Haile should’ve let police have at him.
