I can possibly see two runners beating Komen in a race. Ben Cooke(8K-10K) who has run 23:24 at Rockville in similar humid conditions and Chris Banks, who would probably be able to take Komen at the marathon distance.

so why is it that graff isnt on top of all these lists. I know he lives in rosslyn, and i have seen him half a dozen times on the track and w & l over the last month. I introduced myself and we talked about training for a while.
some nice names in there...
21 16/198 2081 Launchpad Mcquack M 21 Princeton NJ 26:22
22 17/198 2078 Wes Mantooth M 21 Potomac MD 26:23
26 20/198 53 Chris Farley M 29 Arlington VA 26:45
Alex, how is your training coming along? I saw your names in some local results. You running any track races this season?

That list is basically those who race in the DC area. Not to knock anybody who's on there, but lot of guys elsewhere in VA and MD that would be better than many on the list. I think there are a couple on there that haven't raced in a long time too.
whats the point of making a list of the top 50 in no general order? the real fun would be ranking them and then seeing who actually cares to argue. i think it would be much more exciting if you just made it a top 10 or 15, 50 is just way too many.
Dont forget Seppo Kaitainen, and Dumbledore from Harry Potter(i forget the first name i dont know it). Last year i got outkicked by Quenton Cassidy himself! What an honor heh.
I only see one list. In regards to everything else that you mentioned, it's already been said why Graff isn't at the top of the list.
Launchpad Mcquack and Wes Mantooth are obviously made up. Chris Farley is a real person, and has run 2:31 and owns the Pacers running store.
Thanks for asking. Couple of good races during the spring, but nothing spectacular. I'm taking it easy a bit this summer, just running races for fun, not too concerned with my times. Just trying to be consistent. Realization is setting in that I'll probably never break 2:30 for a marathon. Oh well, gave it my best shot.
Why would you argue against having a top 50? It's a pretty competitive running area.
If I had started a top 50 from New Jersey in 2002, then I'd give you permission to bash me.
Hmm, here's a new name to the area. What about Adam Wallace from Wisconsin, finished 13th in the NCAA outdoor nat championships in 2003. Ran 28:13 maybe?
Also, John Tuttle has been racing up here quite frequently the past 6 months. Not so sure he's in Georgia anymore.
