I say Rupp. Not a fan favourite, but no one would have expected him to not make Rio in the 10k. But that is why trials is so exciting.

USATF even saw it fit to include a known doper Tyson Gay even though he didn't qualify

he's been injured.no one expected him to be in top form. he said so himself before the races

I agree that the 5k is his strongest event, and I would prefer to see him run just that at future qualifying meets, but he did make both teams last year.

nothing indicated Ben true should have made the team. he didn't really do anything impressive in 2016 and is the most over-rated runner on Letsrun.com.

he'll run a good race or two and call it a career.

i would have picked Dan Huling to make the team over Ben True

I'm not a huge Ben True fan, but the guy did finish 6th at the World Championships last August. Seems reasonable to predict he would make the team this year.
