American Eagle, although they were a little worrisome on wet pavement.
I thought the Air Edge was the closest thing to a spike I'd ever seen in a flat in terms of fit. A bit hard for anything more than 5K, but very nice (and long lasting) for anything else.
Never liked the Spiridon Golds (I still have my old pair, but there's no way I'd run in them over a decade later!). Too flat in support.
I wore the Air Edge in the Boston Marathon, when they first came out in '84. Big mistake. Not enough cushioning, despite having an air sole. My quads were shot by 20 miles. I should have stuck with the Mariahs.
I wore the Spiridon Golds, (which were really just the American Eagle painted White, Red and Gold), for 5k and under racing. Not enough padding, either, as I was kind of a pounder when I ran.
Reebok 10 miler?, Orange (had air holes cut in upper) got them from Ron Hill Sports(1970?). Followed them with the Reebok 2:07 (purple), both minimalist.
My brother still has a pair of Tiger Ohbori's in his closet.
Tiger had a canvas Cub racer (1968-70) with white canvas upper, marathon sole.
For everyone that loved the Tiger Marathon, You are going to like a new Mizuno flat coming soon. Black flimsy nylon upper with thin sole, looks like an exact copy of the marathon.
yes, I agreed today NIKE is more towards fashion shoe rather than 80's and 90's all NIKE flat/trainers that time is only meant for quality and functionality, such as vendetta tc, terra tc spiridon gold , air Mariah, duellist racer , American eagle and etc to name a few ? anyone can advice

Got to with the New Balance 240RC, got them 13 years ago and they are still good for training in.
I got a pair of Nike flats circa 2003/4 that look very similar the Streak 2s, I hardly hardly used them for racing (because I sort of gave up racing competitively) but I used wear them as slippers etc (to get firewood in), I was then was hit by a natural disaster and I must have left them by my fireplace and the bricks from my fireplace/chimney fell on them and some government volunteer either threw them out or stole them. Anybody have any idea what the were called?
When the Zoom Mayfly came out I was amazed.
