That's certainly a reasonable opinion, but your argument doesn't really make sense. You're subbing Hacker's NXN performance out for what you think is a better footlocker performance but then assuming Anderson runs the same race at footlocker as NXN.

Anderson was 15 seconds ahead of Dressel at WA state. Fisher was 15 seconds ahead of Dressel today. Therefore if Anderson had run footlocker it would have come down to a final sprint between Anderson and Fisher with a slight edge to Anderson because he has better form.

Dressel ran better at State than he did here. Fisher and Anderson both have great form. Fisher has a better kick. Anderson would have either won or gotten second here, I'd say. It wouldn't have been the same race.

I know right? He only ran a 4:03 mile last year, 3rd at FL last year, broke Galen Rupps state XC record by 10 secs and had beaten some good runners this year.... He was clearly running better this year (until today).
I'm curious what happened, on a normal day he would have been in the mix at the end, beating fisher seemed unlikely but top 3 again seemed quite reasonable... bummer to focus everything on this and not have it work out.
I had high hopes as he was clearly peaking for the "after season", thought it was promising he didn't win regional like last year, showed he had learned what is important...

Nope. They specifically mentioned the dust kicking up on the live webcast and how the course was in good condition.

they laid out sand at the bottom of the hill just so it wouldn't be a mud pit... i know the feed was choppy but were you perhaps on LSD at the time?
