I don't think ANY adult athlete in this world right now with maybe the one exception in Asbel Kiprop could go sub 12:40 so that barrier is out of the question
why would kiprop be able to go sub 12:40?
that's faster than his 3k PR of 7:42
he doesn't know how to pace himself either

If I remember right, Rupp Centro & Wheating all split 52.x over their last lap of the Pac-10 1500. It was off a slow pace but I remember Rupp taking over with 500 to go and taking off.
I wouldn't be surprised if he (and those two) ran at :54 or better pace for nearly the last 500 meters. As always, wheating came from further back so a tick faster for him.
