She got hurt in her last meet, grabbing the hamstring right near the finish line. What meet was that...the Jamaican Invite or something?

She got hurt the first time at Mt. Sac and hasn't taken enough time off for the injury to heal.
1:46.87 for Brannon Kidder in the 800 prelims? This guy just keeps getting better and better. He's pretty much gone from 1:51 to 1:46 in only a year.
Junior Hammer Throw winner Cara McClain is surprisingly cute for a thrower:

So the sprints were decided by wind basically? Duncan 11.88?
Why are these things in Iowa again? The crowds?
And what happened to Doc P? Hurt I guess?
Here is a video of Cara McClain practicing throws. Looks way too lean, but she gets the job done.
Vid link would be nice, sorry.
She looks more like a mid-distance runner. How the heck does she throw that well?
cool video

The hammer, and to a lesser extent the disc and shot, are really dominated by the lower body. Yes, you need upper body strength, but the lower body is where most of the distance comes from. Looking at the video link, the upper body is only used to hold onto the hammer. The lower body is doing almost all of the work. Good balance and good technique is invaluable. As she goes to the senior hammer weight, things may change.
Good understanding of the technique and the physics. At the forces she is generation her mass seems to be just enough to tie it together. Doubt she can go much longer with out a heavier anchor(body)

If she was still hurt, then why the hell declare? Seriously, if you're not going to run, then don't declare!!!!
