I don't agree that this is suspicious. If it's your habit to lock the door then you do it regardless of where you are as it's not a conscious choice that you make each time.

Anyone who grew up in a house with lots of siblings is likely to do the same.

I don't agree with that you get into new habits in a different house and door but like I said there are just too many unlikely coincidences for his story to be true. You didn't give any reply to my other points

I replied to that point because it's been repeated several times. The rest of the points just list the ways in which a combination of coincidences led to tragedy.

The toilet room is tiny so even shots fired behind a closed door were likely to hit.

She was possibly scared when OP started shouting and didn't want to let an intruder know where she was. She wouldn't have expected him to start shooting straight away.

If OP got up to go to the balcony it probably made her stir and decide to go and use the toilet if she was needing to pee. If she left the room while he was moving a fan from the balcony then he probably wouldn't hear her walking on the carpeted floor. He obviously did hear her when he was back in the bedroom.

Could be habitual, or it could be that she locked it after OP was shouting that there was an intruder in the house.

He called Netcare at 3:20am on a phone that the police didn't check.

I think the concern was that the window didn't have burglar bars fitted over it rather than it being open.

It's up to the prosecution to prove his guilt rather than for him to prove his innocence, and reports from the bail hearings suggest they are doing an incompetent job so far. The police officer stated that they have found no evidence that definitely refutes OPs defense.

He shot so fast that there was no time for her screams to register in his brain. She may not have screamed, she may have been half asleep and then suddenly hit by bullets, knocked out by bullet to head.

Check out the floot plan to his bed room. There is quite a distance from balcony, bedroom, bed, around the corner into the bathroom and the privy on the far wall...

Now I understand why media reports prevent people getting a fair trial. Disregard all the 'reports' and focus on what has been said at the bail hearing. There is nothing to substantiate that claim.

I didn't see the reports about how they were dressed, definitely doesn't help OP. The detective did say that the woman who reported hearing arguing was approximately 650 yards away. Seems a bit far. She could have been hearing something/somebody else.

It has not be for certain established that they were arguing early in the evening, nor has it been established that she was not in her sleeping clothes...

Those things haven't come out yet.

And it is challenging the contempt laws in SA.

I guess over time we'll find out, but one would think the police would make a big deal out of her not being in her sleeping cloths...she could have crashed in her yoga cloths, and they could have been canoodling and just drifted off in whatever they were wearing.

He happened to be on the balcony at the same time she went to the loo. He was awake anyway would he not have noticed or heard her go. It narrows the time down even further

He happened not to bother checking the bed twice, this is the weakest part. Why would you assume its a burglar when you have not checked the bed go back to get the gun and walk past to go to the bathroom.It's not like going to the loo in the middle of the night is a rare occurrence and he wouldn't be expecting it

It still relies on too many unlikely coincidences all happening together when the obvious answer is staring you in the face

A decent prosecutor would find 100 more inconsistencies than I did

He shouted in the bed room, it seems, and she may have been mid pee in that tiny privvy. All depends what kind of construction on the door, solid wood? Also, there is a heck of an angle to get into that bathroom and the privy is on the far right side of the bathroom.

I am sure more details will come out... reading the time lines are better than the articles, the articles ofte flip stuff and get it backwards.

In his panicked state, in the pitch black, as the police have agreed it to have been, he assumed she was still in bed.

He didn't stand guard at the toilet and wait for police as he assumed the intruder was armed in there and could bust out at any time.

And if OP was manically shouting about someone breaking into the house and that she had to call the police, then it might have seemed like a good idea for her to lock herself in the toilet and stay silent so the intruder couldn't find her. She's not going to yell at him not to shoot through the door because there's no chance she'd be expecting him to do that in the first place.

nothing has been "for certain" established so why are you making such a pointless comment? the cops say they have a witness who said there was non-stop arguing:

a witness can testify to hearing "non-stop talking, like shouting" between 2 a.m. and 3 a.m. before the predawn shooting on Valentine's Day.

apparently the witness was 4 blocks away, which makes his/her claim seem less strong.

she was shot in the hip so whatever she was wearing presumably has a bullet hole in it and blood on it. neither side has stated what she was wearing but there were unconfirmed reports that she wasn't in a teddy.
