Why Was A Man With A 10-Year Doping Ban Enjoying The 2012 US Olympic Track & Field Trials From The Nike Sky Box?

I don't think it's fair for anyone, especially people who quite frequently post on the boards, to all of a sudden slam the nature of the LetsRun forums. Did you clowns not notice how unprofessional this all is on your several thousand previous visits to this site?

The only reason this is even coming up is because, like it or not, the BroJos broke a real story that nobody else had the cojones to touch. Maybe they haven't gone about it in the most professional way and maybe their website isn't taken seriously by Nike, USATF ect. By discussing these things in this thread what you are doing is proving your own point by making off topic arguments that don't adress the issue at hand thereby making this website even more unprofessional.

I for one would like see people continue to discuss what a man serving a 10 Year Doping Ban Was Doing in the Nike VIP Area. If nothing else I find it disrespectful to the sport.

I agree that Block is scum and needs to be drummed from the sport. I agree this is a serious story that needs to be followed up.

But the fact that LetsRun broke this story brings up the lack of credibility it has to many in teh sport. If broken by more credible journalists then it would be taken more seriously by many people.

The reasons why many don't see LetsRun as credible journalists is the obvious biase of many of their articles, their active participation in and promoting of a message board that is offensive to many and slanderous to many in the sport.

So unfortunately, this is a case where the reporter of the story is part of the story.

I think we all agree that Block should not have been in the Nike VIP center at the trials. That is troubling to many of us and we want to see a follow-up by other more seasoned journalists. But Block is not as troubling as 3 major Russian stars being banned for doping earlier today, something that has not been reported on by LetsRun, once again showing us that their is some bias, or agenda, or ineptness associated with LetsRun.

Actually Sean Payton isn't allowed in any NFL stadium or facility and isn't even allowed to talk to anyone affiliated with the league. If he showed up at the Superbowl and sat in a Nike affiliated box, there would be non stop coverage about it on ESPN. stop downplaying the severity of this.

Phil Knight is a business man, he will do anything to protect the reputation of his product. And I got a glimpse of who he is during his eulogy at Paterno's funeral. Paterno, a corrupt man with too much power, virtually did nothing to put and end to Sandusky's child abuse on campus.

Knight called Paterno his "Hero" and said the investigation would exonerate him.

I encourage Letsrun to improve the integrity of their website. Here they have come upon a potentially big story and their lack of credibility is going to make it a non-story.

I like where LETSRUN is going with this. I also like that FLOTRACK is also bringin up the Russian Ladies that just ran between 3:59-4:02 all of a sudden 9 of them run that fast!!

Chase down the cheats, and hope and pray that a lot of them get caught at the Olympics. Jeter will be positive in her tests.

Rojo and Wejo this is FANTASTIC. I do believe that Max Siegel will help this but he is too new to understand the power dynamics. That said, great journalism holds those accountable who normally wouldnt, and shines broad daylight on questionable ethics. As deepthroat said "follow the money".

Maybe they just enjoy his company and aren't concerned about appearances.
