Some loon just shot a Congresswoman

The shooter's name is Jared Lee Loughner," age 22, of Tucson, AZ. Jared Lee Loughner has been identified as the man suspected of shooting Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (D-Ariz.).

Loughner was described by eyewitnesses at the Arizona shooting as a young white man who looked like a "fringe character," in his mid-to-late 20s, clean-shaven with short hair and wearing dark clothing.

A MySpace page belonging to a "Jared Lee Loughner," age 22, of Tucson, was taken down. A YouTube account also exists in his name.

Apparently one image from a video says that he "won't pay debts that are not backed by gold and silver..."

Tea partier for sure.

Mein Kampf and the Communist Manifesto was listed in his favorite book section. Yep, a wack job just like Uncle B.

The guy was obviously insane. He is fascinated with the two things that tea partiers are fascinated with: govt conspiracy and currency.

One user on Twitter, Caitie Parker, wrote she went to high school, college and was in a band with the gunman. She said she hadn't seen him since 2007.

Parker wrote of Lougher, "As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal and oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy."

She also described him as "more left."

Lougher also left a trail of bold political statements.

On his now deleted MySpace page, Lougher wrote a series of disjointed rants, including:

"If there's no flag in the Constitution, then the flag in the film is unknown. There's no flag in the Constitution. Therefore, the flag in the film is unknown. Burn every new and old flag that you see. Burn your flag!"

"I bet you can imagine this in your mind with a faster speed. Watch this protest in reverse! Ask the local police, 'What's your illegal activity on duty?'"

"If you protest the government, then there's a new government from protesting. There's not a new government from protesting. Thus, you aren't protesting the government."

The more you read of this guy, the more you have to conclude that he is just picking up random political stuff from the air. None of this is coherent as an ideology--either left or right.

Aaron Klein is also an extreme right-winger who is citing a random person on Twitter (who may or may not have even gone to school with the shooter) as the basis for his little update. That's real journalism right there.

I admit, I jumped to conclusions. The guy has no coherent ideology. He can't even form a coherent sentence.

Here is Sarah Palins PAC ad where she listed the names of members of Congress to target. Notice there are crosshairs on all the locations. Gabrielle Giffords was on the target list. All the hate propaganda from the conservative media lately is really not funny now. Sad how half the internet seems suddenly obsessed with figuring out whether this guy was a left or right wing nutcase. I admit that was my first instinct too. But in the end he's just a nutcase - the material he drew from is only incidental. "If the furnace is hot enough anything will burn."

None of these are bold political statements. They are the rantings of a damaged soul. Hopefully whoever posted that crap now realizes that he gets his news from a propaganda page.
