Great runs by both Lagat and Solinsky. Lagat definitely benefited from experience... he was in great position to run unimpeded over the last lap. Solinsky closed well, too, but had to come from 8th-10th position or so on the final lap. Regardless, Solinsky picked up a handful of very impressive names to have beaten.

For those whose stream failed, Lagat went for the win basically with 200 to go, with Bekele(?) matching and then passing Lagat at the top of the curve. In the final meters, Merga split the two for the win.

And to answer the question from ages ago, the Adidas kit is the pale blue/dull neon yellow, similar to the Nike colourway from last season, save for approximately 1,000 washings. Doesn't look terrible with the black haftights, but otherwise it is too solid.

I believe the "alternate," black with gold stripe is actually for the Olympic Gold medalists...and the purple for the rest.

Reminds me of '07 with the huge debate over the red swoosh on some of the Nike tops, while the others were white.

I also think Nike's new kit is swank, v-cool.

Adidas's kit look like a high school girls uni.
