If a gun manufacturer won't sell me a weapon (for whatever reason), are they impinging on my right to bear arms?
If a newspaper refuses to publish my article, are they constitutionally wrong for "picking and choosing who keeps their right to free speech"?
The right is TO LIFE, not TO HAVING HEALTH CARE PROVIDED.
Show me the case that says that every store in America needs to sell guns in order to uphold the 2nd amendment.
I've heard that argument time and time again, which is why I'm addressing it from the other side. A gun manufacturer won't sell you a weapon if you are a criminal.
Health insurance, though, when you have it, is not potentially dangerous like a gun. It is dangerous NOT to have it, so your argument is backwards.
A newspaper is itself a form of free speech, which does give them that right to pick and choose who they quote. Starting and distributing your own newsletter (or website) is the other option and not nearly as expensive as health insurance.
So what I'm saying is, if we have the right to life, then insurance companies have proven incapable of providing that right to ALL PEOPLE (the definition thereof). The only other option is to have a program to insure those people whose rights have been taken away by insurance companies.
