how many berths does each region have?
what good teams will not make it to nats?
what bad teams will?

adams team is not one of the best ever, they have two of the best runners ever but their 3-5 is lacking even though they are one of the deepest teams ever behind them
Who between Mwei, Braun, and Medigovich are you saying is "lacking".
should be an obvious answer, two of those guys step up in every big race they run, and run smart in the smaller races remembering to peak for the end of the season

What?
like how mwei won nationals in the steeple?
that was track homes. he didnt run so well in their biggest meet (osu) this year like the rest of his team did. maybe he shouldnt have raced so hard against teamates at unimportant meets at altitude
and the OSU meet was just the OSU meet. no one cares how you run there. we will see at nationals.
Mwei was sick at OSU, lets see what happens this weekend.
I think this is the best Adams team ever, their 4th and 5th guys Mcniff and Cragg have ran 3.42 and 14.05 respectively and would give any Adams end of season 4th or 5th man from the past a good run for their money.
mcniff is not a 3:42 guy, that is a ridiculous conversion from alamosa altitude, but he is a solid runner

You mean Baby Nationals, right??
You say Baby Nationals as if Adams and Western didn't just run the Jamboree a few weeks ago and killed plenty of ranked DI teams. I dare you to throw half of the DII North Central region into a race with plenty of ranked DI schools and watch the outcome. Your just ignorant so keep your opinion to yourself idiot
RMAC's are this weekend in Wash Park, Denver. This course is flat and fast and certainly will favor the speedier teams. In recent history Mines has come into this race, favored to beat Western and has choked, however, I agree with Boulder-runner, this is their best team, but I have to see it to believe it.
Granted very few people pay attention to the ladies on this board, but has anyone else noticed how Westerns ladies seem to be dropping off? They are only ranked 5th in the regional pole. I think they will surprise some people. Jen Michaels teams have consistently come ready to run, despite the nay-sayers.
Oh one more thing, why don't we all stop getting offended about the "baby national" comment
Dude, responding to Baby Nationals posts is a lost cause. I understand your frustration but just ignore those from now on.
As for XC, we've got conference meets coming up this week. I'll be following the GNAC and looking for a win from the DUBBA DUBBA U! Good luck guys!

I don't think it was Mines so much as "choking" as the rankers getting it wrong. Mines has been 3rd at RMAC's behind Adams and Western for quite a few years.
Regionals are all that matters, by nationals no one will even care about conference meets.
not for the top three teams in the rmac, regionals is just for qualifying, its more prestigious to win or do well at rmac's and the fans are insane....A S C, A S C,A S C..... Weeeeeeeesssss-stern, Weeeeeeesssss-stern.... that's all there is to hear the entire race
Chico guys looking strong at the CCAA meet:
http://hsujacks.com/custompages/mcross/2009/CCAAmen.htm
for reference I've run at Beau Pre and it is (or at least can be) a pretty tough course.
and the ladies as well:

(impressive considering they ran w/ out T.Tyler)
adams went 1-3, got the win, western looked very solid, mines did very poorly once again, metro just behind them and definitely earned a ranking. the 'fast course' in denver wasnt so fast today
GNAC:
Men- Marko Cheseto of Alaska Anchorage wins individual title (24:50), Western Washington wins team title (33 points) over Alaska Anchorage (70 points)
Women- Jessica Pixler of Seattle Pacific wins individual title (21:03), Alaska Anchorage wins team title (25 points) over Seattle Pacific (45)
Western State has never finished worse than 2nd in the RMAC. Mines is delusional if they believe that they someehow were once better. This is the BEST they have ever run. Both men and women once again proved how strong the Western tradition is. The frost is on the pumkin and as the weather turns colder Western State starts cranking up the heat. The big red machine rolls in November.
