Anyhow, people are physiologically different, and thats OK, its not racist. People are diverse, with diverse abilities and talents.
I agree that people are diverse and physiologically different - it would be stupid to say otherwise. I just think that it is very dangerous to argue that those differences are GENETICALLY concentrated across different races. I would even concede that there might be some small differences in genetic abilities across race, but I think that these differences are largely magnified by cultural and environmental factors.
And I don't think I am wrong in what a lot of other people think about racial differences. I'm not necessarily saying that YOU think it, but there are a substantial number of people who support the idea of genetic deficiencies or advantages (especially in athletics). In terms of what I said about poverty and schooling; see Charles Murray's "The Bell Curve", which basically argues that IQ differences are predisposed across race and that the class structure in America is due to difference in intelligence. That book's ideas garnered a lot of support (and controversy). I'm not projecting.

You missed the main point of my statement, which is that a far greater proportion of the East African population is fitter, not obese, and in better running shape by the time they are in adolescence. In America, a good proportion of our kids are obese or at least overweight. That is a far greater disadvantage for our general population than any "genetic" factors.

Have you ever noticed a difference in the build of black vs whites? How many whites are built like Kenyans? Im not talking about fat whites, Im talking about fit ones. Even fit whites generally have thicker calves, shorter legs etc. Do you really not notice the differences? If you do notice them, maybe they afford some kind of advantage.
How come there are not any great West African distance runners? Why are there no Kenyan sprinters? You think maybe they are specifically talented?
Have you ever been around high school sports? What do you notice about the builds and abilities of blacks and whites? Are the mexican kids very tall and built? Are the blacks generally the faster guys?

ps- I think that poor nutrition, mortality, disease is much greater in Kenya than the USA.
I could argue that the population size of Aboriginals makes them potentially the fastest on the planet. Supposedly on 100,000 Aboriginals exist. They have had a few other partial Aboriginals run close to this time. How many Caribbean runners from countries of 100K have broken 10? There are only a few of them.
Is Craig still the fastest of all time? I'm not too sure on this one.......

The OP was probably referring to his potential at the time (2009). GB has had loads of talented white sprinters over the years, especially in the 400m, but they rarely reached their potential. Partly this was due to having to compete at a national and international level against African drug cheats, partly due to bad luck - or maybe the piss poor standards of the National Health Service.
The fastest white guy is Christophe Lemaitre in 2011 (just two years after this thread started), and it might just be the clean world record for 100m.
Adam Gemeli has ran 9.97 and might yet go faster (and faster even than Lemaitre) although I think that he is a mix of Persian and White British.
Don't forget about Ramil Guliyev, he has forever solidified his position by winning a Gold medal in the 2017 200m . He has also run sub 10 in 2017 and is the fastest caucasian in 2017.
