So? He could get 3rd with 2 femoral stress fractures, 4 cracked ribs, and a concussion.

ok, but where would he finish if he had webbed feet, a tail, and lady parts?

depends - is he injured or not?
North Central won the Illinois Intercollegiates on Friday, beating DI representatives such as the University of Illinois and Illinois State.

They look extremely tough at this point. I think this is shaping up as their best team in a long while.
LC freshman cross country runners,
As funny as it is to get on letsrun and pretend you are Coach Toms and use his quotes you are doing a major disservice to a proud, quality program. Ricky's performances this fall will speak for themselves and if the past is any indication he doesn't need anyone to spread word of how good he is because he will actually be "that good" and everyone will know.
My freshman year one of the first things Coach and the seniors told me was to stay off the message boards. I can guarantee you if the parents of any recruit (yes there are some parents who read letsrun) were to see this thread and the posts under Coach's name they would not pay for their son to run at Lynchburg College. I am rooting for guys big time and wish you all of the success in the world in the ODAC and S/SE region but please just let your performances do the talking.

Ha! Sounds like you have a vagina too Peggy.
North Central does look quite good for this early, though it's a little curious that they've raced 4 times already this season. Maybe one or two of those were just run as workouts for the top guys, and I'm not going to doubt that Al Carius knows what he's doing, but if you look at their schedule for this season it looks like they are racing a lot more than most teams before regionals and nationals.
Cortland also raced -

Looks like their top 3 sorta packed it up, hard to say how good the rest of their guys really are. Looks like a pretty beastly performance by Dan Ramsey of St. Lawrence.
Neither La Crosse nor Williams seem to have raced their top guys in anything significant.
Allegheny raced, -

Looked pretty solid, and soundly beat a Calvin team that looks like its best days are in the past.

Please tell me Coach Toms told Flynn his vagina was "glorious". That would be the funniest shit ever.
I think Geneseo is also worth mentioning with those other top ranked teams. They look pretty good as the PSU Invite.

Actually, this year, I'm trying to get the guys on the message board as much as possible. There's not much else to do while we are waiting for Ricky to finish practice

Peggs does have a vagina. Seems like runners with vaginas just gravitate to me.

North Central College >> Lynchburg College
That depends, do any of your men have vaginas?
Coach Toms, do you have need of any 800 runners? It sounds like I'd be perfect for your team. Please let me know.
cool
Griak this weekend in Minnesota-should be a good meet to see where a lot of people are at.
It's always tough to know what to make of their schedule, since they frequently send teams without the top 7-10 guys. They don't race this weekend, and then, their varsity will go to ND the following week. I'm not connected to the program, but I'd predict that their top guys don't race again after that until Oshkosh on the 17th. As for the schedule so far, their alumni meet really isn't much of a meet, but I was a little suprised to see their varsity run the next weekend at Elmhurst. Historically, they've done both the Bradley meet and the Illinois intercollegiates, so no surprise there.Anyway, it will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.

We might be able to use an 800 runner, if you are able to run the 800/10,000 double. What are your pr's son?
It could just be coincidence, but it seems to me North Central races their top guys more frequently when meets are on Fridays.... and it looks like they have scheduled even more Friday meets in recent years. I've heard they do their long runs on Saturdays, so maybe they feel like they are not sacrificing a long run for a race if the races are on Friday. Since they are known for being a fairly high mileage program, I would suspect they value their long runs pretty heavily. I seem to recall that Al Carius wrote an article way-back-when about guys only having so many good races or top performances in them in one season. I think it was called a "container theory" or something like that. Either he's changed his opinion or he doesn't feel like they are using up their "good races/top performances" yet. I guess time will tell.

who?
Correct. The NCC varsity will race Notre Dame, and then Oshkosh, before the conference meet. They raced all their runners at Elmhurst because they are hosting conference this year, and the course has been changed since the last time EC held the conference meet.
