It was a clear rules violation. It’s on video. I just don’t agree at all with the DQ. Use it as a teaching moment. But it’s hard to teach when a bunch of adults muddy the waters by pretending some combination of (1) rules don’t matter; and (2) it’s okay to violate the rules as long as you personally think the rule is stupid.
Not the life lessons we should be teaching.
what exactly do you think you're teaching the kids? "no excess?" more like forced stoicism at the pinnacle.
it's out of whack with the direction of other sports. in my day, you couldn't spike a football. now you can. soccer goals are now a team meeting at the corner flag.
when we won soccer state twice? dogpile. when we won area in track? dogpile. decades ago.
