Brevard College Head Track opening - Last coach was there for 3 years, Initially was an only 1 full time track spot with an assistant role, looks like 2 assistant spots were added in the last couple years. Not a terrible location, and not the most expensive D3 school, could be decent for someone.
Director role at Denison University open - also not a terrible job, decent area in Ohio, team isn’t completely falling apart, large staff to work with, a program the school wants to succeed clearly.
Assistant role at John Hopkins - 50K a year is a nice salary for an assistant spot at a high level D3 program, and just overall high level academic institution. Previously a sprints/hurdles coach.
Assistant Throws coach at Eastern Mennonite University in Virginia open. D3
Head Track coach at Southwestern College, Kansas NAIA, have seen them rotate through a bit of coaches each year, but seems this last one they hired got fired at Frostburg for a reason (rumored to be threatening to pull scholarships from athletes for reasons outside of track and field and creating a toxic environment), didn’t last too long at Southwestern and is now an assistant at a JUCO.
I know nothing about the real details of the Denison job or department, but I'd be inclined to think it's actually a really good D3 job. They have some really nice facilities, and just won the WBB & MSD national titles over the weekend. Meaning that there is clearly enough institutional support and resources to build a winning program. Looking at their staff, I'd guess it may be a formality posting to promote their head T&F coach Fitzpatrick but just a guess
If you have been tuned in on social media, you’ve probably seen what’s going on at Illinois State. A lot of current and former sprinters have been posting in support of their sprint coach, who was recently placed on leave. From what’s being said, the situation stems from a report made by the head coach claiming the sprint coach was taunting him and made him feel threatened. But it seems more like discrimination, especially since the video going around shows the sprint coach simply celebrating with his athlete in the crowd after a huge moment—a school record in the 200m and a 1-2-3 finish at conference. The celebration looked no different than what you see from NBA players all the time, which is why many feel like the situation is being misrepresented. It’s tough to see, especially considering how well the Illinois State sprinters just performed at conference. Now it feels like the program is caught in a situation where either the sprint coach or the head coach position could end up opening. Even coaches across the country are speaking out—USC’s Coach Emmanuel showed support, and the hashtag #ForJordan has been gaining traction. At the end of the day, it’s just unfortunate for the athletes and the Sprint Coach.
Any info on whats going on with the Shorter job? No idea where the coach went but I know the program used to be fairly competitive, looks like they are in a rebuild. I honestly have no idea on the history of the team other than when I was competing.
Also the start up program at Texas A&M - San Antonio? NAIA school that looks like its doing things the right way. Know a few different qualified coaches that applied that got absolute crickets.

I applied and I haven't heard anything. I plan on emailing HR today to ask about a timeline so I guess I can provide an update if/when they reply.

They emailed back pretty quickly. They're still reviewing applications but have no timeline for when they want to conduct interviews.

Appreciate the update! They're planning on starting the program up this upcoming season? Would be very late to the game and a big ask for a coach to try to build a roster from nothing for next year at this point?

Not sure tbh. The press releases aren't 100% clear if year 1 they're expecting to field teams or spend year 1 building the roster. That's definitely a question I would have if I make it to the interview stage.
