but only on Seth threads do you have people talk about “libel” and “getting sued”
the haddonfield way
guess that shows the difference between rich and track in your backyard rich
I just dont understand how this is even a thing to begin with. How could Rowan possibly accept this kid on the team right after he was kicked out?
I once had a great respect for their program, no longer anymore. Now I wonder since they let a doped up dude to run for them, what else do they allow? Are there others who dope on that team? Do they care? Because its pretty obvious at this point this dude is a doper, this has been known for months.
This type of stuff should not be tolerated. He should be banned from competing in the NCAA indefinitely. Shame on Iowa State. Shame on Rowan. I cant imagine letting a kid on to any program like this after everything that has happened recently, its just a slime ball move on Rowan so they can have a chance at the nationals. Imagine if Cole Hocker had done the same thing? Just imagine.
Everyone call the NCAA. Tell them this is fraud and concealment. The Iowa State coach must release the suspension details to the public given the scandalous information surrounding it. There are records, championships, and titles at stake and if the NCAA doesn't respect these boundaries then they shouldn't be governing this sport to begin with.
If this were any other top elite athlete it would be no different. This is unacceptable in this sport where we value the integrity of the athlete above all else. Why would we even have a championship when you have a slime ball like this guy running around? Test him everyday of the week and show us the proof.

Seriously, shame on Rowan for allowing this. This is just low. They’re just as bad as Iowa State for permitting this considering the whole scandal around it. It just shows their integrity too, theyre a low a class program that cuts any corner possible to get a trophy. Investigate them too while youre at it, if they let someone like this on the team, I bet theres others just like him.
I can never imagine any other d3 program doing something like this.
The coaches at Iowa State are questionable at best- the coaches at Rowan are questionable at best- Clevenger didn't transfer to Stockton or TCNJ- there's a reason he ended up at Rowan.

yeah there’s a reason he ended up at Rowan: close to home and solid d3 track program. pretty sure any coach including Stockton or tcnj would be thrilled to get a kid running that quick.
Yknow this probably wouldn’t be as big of an issue it is now if he just came out saying his side of the story without violating any possible NDAs. Now he has a target on his back with all of the top guys in d3
Small detail but the top guys who actually have a brain are liking comments going against the whole idea of clevenger being in d3. Silent but not silent
Do you guys only live in Letsrun and not know how the real world works? A 5 star receiver at Oregon was suspended last fall for breaking team rules. He transferred to a Juco. There are dozens of examples in football where the rule is never divulged. Real sports. Real starters. Millions of fans. This story is a backup man in a sport with thousands of fans.
After Transferring From Iowa State, Clevenger Debuts For New Jersey's Rowan University, Runs 7:54.87 In 3,000 For Third-Fastest Time In NCAA D3 History; Ridge NJ Girls, East Lyme CT Boys Run U.S. Top 10 DMRsBy Oliver Hinson o...
: Clevenger said he’s on a mission this season to rewrite the DIII record books and, in a sense, his reputation. In October, several members of the Iowa State cross country team were suspended for violating team rules. However, no specifics about the violations were given, and the names of the suspended athletes were never released. Clevenger didn’t specifically mention the suspensions in his post-race interview, but he cited a general lack of respect from the surrounding community as his reason for transferring. “Some people said some things about me,” Clevenger said. “They weren’t true… I just didn’t feel respected at my previous institution. I decided to come here where people actually respect me and treat me as an equal.” Clevenger said his next stop will likely be a Boston University meet, where he’ll target Alex Phillip’s indoor DIII 5,000 record of 13:44.98 and, in his words, “probably smash it.”

I don't get all the hate against the former Iowa State runner (Seth Clevenger) who has now transferred to a D3 school (Rowan) and I don't think it's deserved or justified. I'm also thinking that if he had really doped egregiously - he would not be running right now or am I missing something? No way(in my mind) will any U.S. institution allow an NCAA athlete to compete and face serious accusations of breaking NCAA rules (i e. doping).
Going by Clevenger's words, I'm assuming he's clean and I'm also thinking now based on his 7:54/3000 that he'll be good for at least 13:30 -13:35 in the indoor 5,000. Possibly even sub 13:30.
The negativity against this guy is really sad and I hope he redeems himself, and that somewhere down the road, people will discover he was a victim of unfortunate/unforeseen circumstances.
