Im going all in on the freshman from Utah. This pony is starting to feel her oats.
Secretariat.
AI Overview Secretariat's heart was estimated to weigh 22 pounds (about 10 kilograms), which is nearly three times the size of an average horse's heart (typically around 8.5 pounds or 4 kilograms).
Actually, I do. I am a well respected leader of my community with many responsibilities. That is why I must leave this thread until next Saturday.
I took time out of my busy schedule to impart my wisdom. I did it as a kindness to prepare the people of this forum for the disappointment that is coming next weekend. Rather than heeding my warning, the irrational mob attacked the messenger.
I will no longer share the gift of my experience with an ungrateful crowd. There are far better uses of my time.
If you see any comment that looks like it's from my user name between now and next Saturday, it is from the imposter using the lowercase l (as in: loser) for the first letter. I will not even open this thread again until next Saturday. So long.
The coach cannot be trusted for an objective analysis. Of course the coach is gonna hype up her athlete and try to portray her as invincible. Please put on your thinking cap and try to look at this rationally.
I cant trust you for objective analysis either, you're a random poster on a message board. I can trust that Dilgeet has far more evidence than you. I can also trust that I have a lot of experience with my own analysis and zero experience with your analysis so there is zero rational value in trusting your analysis. I also see your argumentative nature and and clear trolling traits and logical fallacies and disregard for any point that clearly invalidates your proposition so I'm quite comfortable in the level of rationality in my current reasoning. Don't say I didn't warn you
It only takes one overly exerted prelim to hurt someone's performance in a final. Seen it so many times.
Message to the juvenile who keeps registering my user name. I can keep slightly altering my user name so you're wasting your time. I'm smarter than you.
LOL, says the person who has been massively downvoted in every single post on this thread. Either you're a troll who just enjoys getting attention or you're not remotely as smart as you think you are. Even crushing the field in every race, at no point in any of her THREE races this season has she looked anywhere near gassed. She is a 19 year old world class talent who is in obviously incredible form; THREE 6k races at sub-maximal effort is not going to hurt her one bit. As someone said upthread, the finish line video of this race (and of all her races this year) frankly look like someone finishing a tempo workout; rather than looking like someone who is spending herself cheaply she is looking like someone who is about to drop a nuclear bombshell on the field next week. She is going to be incredibly hard to beat at NCAA's, no matter which opponent we're talking about.
Looks like I'm pretty smart after all! The downvotes mean nothing. The outcome means everything. I was right. You were wrong. You can apologize now.
It's not a very safe and easy bet. The vast majority of Lets Runners think it's a foregone conclusion Jane will win. There's literally a thread with people predicting her margin of victory will be 30 seconds or more. In this thread, people are saying she ran easy today.
Will YOU come back to this thread to apologize to me if she loses?
I won’t apologize to you, because you are being ridiculous, but I will bump this thread under my same handle regardless of the result.
This girl has been running crazy 6ks every time she steps on a course this season. This was a slower one for her. I think that you are overreacting.

The rule of thumb is that it takes one day per mile raced to fully recover. Two weeks is plenty of time to recover from regionals, and how she ran at regionals had nothing to do with how she ran today.

Regionals were only 8 days ago.
Still plenty of time. You really believe running maybe running 30 seconds faster than she had to, at regionals, had anything with how she ran today? It’s not that she stunk it up today and 2nd place as a freshman, is impressive.
OK, I just watched the race. Jane cruised, start to finish.. That race had zero effect on her ability to come back next week at nationals. It was a glorified workout.

She had nothing left in the tank in the last 1k today when she needed it. When she ran Pre-Nats on the same course, her last 1k was 3:06. Today it was 3:14. She was fried.

Yet, she ran faster overall, indicating the pace was too quick for her, not that she overdid it at Regionals.

And her opening k at Pre-Nats was 3:08. Today it was 2:59.6. Which resulted in that final 3:14 slog to the end.
FTR, Doris closed in 3:01, the best of the day.
And Doris even pushed the pace mid-way instead of just hanging w/Jane then kicking her down.
Lady with the best fitness & best kick. Also the best mindset. Appears she knew she was the best and went out and proved it.
