I've been coaching for a longgggg time. There's definitely a group of young "Bro Coaches" who congregate at meets- they're all people celebrated on this site by posters- and they're all creating this. Look at the regional rankings- look at the individuals- what have we allowed these coaches to do to the sport in the last 5 years? Ted Banks / John Chaplin without the substance. Iowa State will clean house- as they should- lack of institutional control- but there will be a never-ending line of young men to replace them. None of these children are coaching by age 40. Young coaches- pay attention to coaches who retire coaching- not flash-in-the-pans who have dismantled the sport. Really disappointing- but not surprising.
