Werro looked quite labored there imo. Sage did just about everything she could to make the final, hopefully the time stands.
Yes, I don't think Warro was easing up on purpose.

Werro front-ran 1:56.99 going 58.48-58.51, so not such a bad thing to look labored. Definitely still a medal contender.

Not sure why Hull gave up so much ground off the start
She's primarily a 1500/3000 runner, going hard from the gun probably hurts her in a way it doesn't the pure 800 runners. And it worked out for her
Laros update: achilles tendon playing up
Despite closing a 1:56.99 in 29.42, Werro didn't look good imo. She looked like swimming in the lactic sea over the last 30 meters. Even in a fast race I don't expect her to run faster than she did today in 2 days.
Love to see Jess go 1:56 in the final 🤞

Oh no! It's infectious! Should've stayed far from Jakob.

Yeah she doesn't have the sprinting legs from a standing start.
Hull and Sage advance with q from heat 2.
Very happy for SH-K!
Doesn't look good for Sarah Moraa after the race...
Let’s go Sage!!!

Got to hope that's just cramp
As with Kerr it looks to me like Keeley is having to work quite hard
Final might be close
Robinson and Sage both make their finals, OAC continues to send the haters home devastated with an excellent worlds
Hodgkinson easily through, still the one to beat.
Think she'll go sub 1:55 in the final and nobody in this field can do that.
Going to be a truly great Women's 800 final.

She just hates running slow.
She'll go through the bell in 56-57 in the final and she looks more comfortable at that speed.

Jakob actually split the fastest last 1k (2:23 or so) because he left himself so far back.
If that's right, it makes him a danger. He's got a race under his belt and not many in the field are capable of a 2:23 final km. Gold might be tough but there's medal potential there imo
Jakob struggling to qualify doesn't inspire as a medal prospect.
