Bobby hasn't been involved in literally any controversy since before Sydney was even born. The "controversy" being entirely hearsay. It's obvious JJK and Flo-Jo (who by the way moved to be coached by Al Joyner in 1988 anyway) weren't clean but after that era nothing was heard of Bobby in that regard. I honestly don't remember Allyson having as much flack for being with Bobby as Sydney gets either. Same with Kori Carter, Kerron Clement, Athing Mu, Keni Harrison, etc. So it really seems that Sydney is being scrutinised more because she's just better, but every sign from her youth showed that she could be this good.
Personally I don't count allegations made, under oath, in a Canadian court of law during the Dubin Inquiry by Angela Bailey as 'Entirely hearsay'. Maybe you're too young (or forgetful) to know that Angela Bailey was coached by Kersee. Nor do I count the allegations made by Darrell Robinson, a Kersee athlete, as 'hearsay'. In the land of Lawsuits, how funny that Kersee et al never dared sue Robinson or Bailey for defamation or libel....he wouldn't dare.
Flo-Jo (by the way) moved to Al after the 1988 US Olympic Trials. It was Kersee that got her into her surreal 1988 form, not Al.
Re other Kersee athletes, you must never have been on the old Track & Field News Forums, but I used to be very vocal about Felix's association with Kersee.
What is important here is that Kersee has had, and always will have, a select inner circle. He didn't and doesn't dope every athlete in his group. Certainly not nowadays as it is way too risky. Someone like Sydney is in this circle. Remember, when ask a couple of years ago why he restricted her racing schedule so much, and he described her as a top racing car, which you wouldn't take out the garage every day to drive. Meanwhile other athletes of his like Prandini were racing all over the place, including the dreaded DL league in Europe, God forbid. Clearly poor Prandini was not in his inner circle, and not privy to special treatment.
