Nuguse was tying up - increasingly - the last 70 meters, he was struggling to run a straight line, never mind not being able to hold his form. Stop critiquing him as if either of you have ever raced, never mind having gone all out as he did over a mile. Nuguse shot for the moon and missed. At least he went for it. Kessler dis not and ended up almost coasting the last 50 - 60 meters. Laros woke up and went for it all the last 400 and stunned himself never mind everyone else. He mow KNOWS that he can win big races against the big guns.
Nuguse thought he had it won. He didn't see Laros coming so he eased up on the line. You don't know that he might have had a final lunge in him had he realised.

You should actually watch the race - or are your eyes too far gone? Nuguse was in distress the entire final straight. He was slowing down. That happens.
Based on that, I pick him to win the 5,000 in Tokyo. That's incredible speed-endurance for a 5/10 guy, especially a double Oly medallist in those events He must be chomping at the bit now.
So you don´t think the Norwegian will run the 5000m in Tokyo?
If Jakob's fitness is questionable, which seems likely, he may well run only the 5,000 in Tokyo. But he'd still have a hard time beating a peak-fitness Fisher.
Fisher 3:59 -> 3:48, has there been a bigger PB drop? :)
Love how NBC mentioned Fisher Hocker and Naguse as favorites. I didnt even know that Jake or Hobbs were in race until the gun. Turns out they were not a big factor. but cmon?

He also thought that he had dropped everybody. You don't know that he didn't have an extra stride in him, unless he saw Aros closing on him and tried to summon the extra effort. He didn't see - until Aros clipped him on the line.

You don't know what Nuguse thought.
I'm not claiming to know what he thought. But he didn't appear to see Laros closing on him until it was too late. So none of you know whether he might have had something left if he was aware of the danger.

Armdumb doesn't understand it. He never raced.
I did race but I had what you don't - intelligence. Some runners don't. One of them would have been you.

True, he didn't see him. Also true that he was tying up and attempted to lean at the line but was exhausted. I have just watched the race again. Nuguse was exhausted and looking down and up...

He didn't see Laros until they hit the line. It was then too late. But if he had tried to respond a few metres earlier he might have won. But he wasn't aware of Laros. He appeared to think he had it won.

It's ok to watch it again and change your opinion. Nuguse was exhausted.

What would you be without your insults and gaslighting? So weak...
I simply state the truth. It's only "gaslighting" when you don't like it. You're also pretty free with your own petty insults. But that isn't "gaslighting" ....

That doesn't mean he had nothing left. You don't know for a fact what he was experiencing.
