Sean Brosnan and Carlos Handler are the two coaches. Carlos coached a New Balance group back in 2015-2016, and Carlos' wife Brenda Martinez was part. During their time there, Boris Berian achieved a gold medal in the World Championships indoors and also made it as a finalist in the Olympics 800m. And of course Brenda had more success herself training in Big Bear.
So, basically this will be Carlos Handler's group and Sean will help out a bit.
From what’s being told Carlos Hander Is coaching 800m and Brosnan coaching 1500-10k. So sounds like Carlos will be less involved than Brosnan as far as responsibility of athletes and coaching. Carlos staying with the 800m specific.
If you assume most of the runs are on the roads in Mammoth, you were not in the right place. Snow can be a challenge on some winters, but you can find dirt roads east of Mammoth or head south towards Bishop or beyond. But I lived in Chula Vista near the OTC for many years and would see Ryan Hall, Ian Dobson, or whomever from that crew in the winter pretty often leading up to the '08 games and beyond. They were not in Mammoth year-round. Favorable prices...heck everywhere is expensive now.

I have to disagree. There is one set of roads behind the track in Mammoth. Yes they go for miles but they are extremely rocky. Most pros and even high schools run on the damn highway in mammoth. And there is no coverage in the summer all exposed to the sun. And like others mentioned there is way more snow in Mammoth than other altitude places to train. Also altitude for most runs in Mammoth is over 8000ft and that’s another downfall. Perfect is 7000ft to 7500ft. Training too high can work against you. NAU and Adams State are dominated for partially that reason. Both schools are 7000ft to 7500ft. I can’t speak for Big Bear because I’ve never been there, but the altitude seems perfect and access to sea level is the best I’ve heard of. But again I’ve never been there.
If you’ve ever been lucky enough to cross paths with Carlos Handler, you already know: this man doesn’t just train champions. He raises them. He cares for his runners. A true vigilante.
This is copium. Brosnan coached the greatest HS team of all time and will now be coaching a pro team. The reports of the death of Brosnan’s career were greatly exaggerated. It’s okay to admit that you got this one wrong.

Wow, when you say it like that, I guess i am jealous. He’s so incredible.
While it's undeniably beautiful in Mammoth, it may not be the ideal spot to train full-time as a professional. The amount of snow there is just excessive, which can be challenging. The track is nice, but it's quite far from any regular airport, and I was surprised to see that most of the runs are on the road. When I took my high school team there, it was a bit alarming how many runs were on the road. Additionally, the prices there are pretty unfavorable. Just some things to consider if you're thinking about training there long term.
Meb loved Mammoth but place like Flagstaff make Mammoth look bad as far as places for elites to train. Everyone stopped going to Mammoth.
Mammoth is an excellent place to train for part of the year. It's not a year round place because of the cold and snow. Plenty of trails, great track, good roads for longer workouts as well. Good hills for training as well. Much like those training in Colorado you would have to hit the treadmill for some of the training if you were in Mammoth year round.
But I'm not sure if the rumor is that he's in Mammoth or Big Bear? Can't get the rumor straight.

Meb trained in Mammoth and now there's a new group/team forming in Big Bear. They're completely unrelated, just clearing that up

Mammoth is great to ski. Not ideal to run. One of the first elite track club started there, but quickly disbursed after Larson and Vigil left. Nowadays pros pick other spots to train.

Quickly like after a decade. Meb, Deena, the Halls, Dan Browne and many many others were there for years. I think the downfall was that it wasn't a year round spot.
But that's completely off topic because Big Bear and Mammoth Lakes aren't the same thing.
I’m not sure why there is an automatic assumption that a successful high school coach would automatically be a successful college or pro coach.
The demands of the coach as well the demands of the athlete are quite different at different levels, for reasons totally unrelated to training methodologies. Maybe some are able meet the needs of athletes across all levels, but I don’t think that’s necessarily so.
From what I understand of Brosnan, he was a pretty visionary coach and builder of programs for young men at the high school level. As amazing an accomplishment as this is, it is a very different prospect from developing already-professional athletes who are full-fledged independent adults. You have a different set of problems that require a different “touch”. We saw that at the collegiate level he fell short not because of a lack of training insight or acumen but because he seemingly failed to understand that the demands of his job were different, and very critical component of his job— compliance— fell by the wayside, and he lasted only a year as a result.
In any case, I don’t see why the need to move to pro in any case, but that’s just me I suppose. A successful high school coach can mold an entire generation of young men and women, and that seems to be what he was doing at Newbury Park. To me, that’s a far more impressive and worthwhile and achievement.

Mammoth is far from sea level is a ski town due to heavy snow and unforgiving high expenses to rent, but or live. Big Bear, on the other hand, is quite different from Mammoth, being located at varying altitudes ranging from 6800ft to 7500ft. It generally experiences less snow, is only an hour away from sea level, and offers a more affordable living option.
