As a lifelong democrat and decent democrat donor, I’ve just gotta say: enough with these idiotic pronouns. I don’t GAF what you refer to yourself as, but I’ll be damned if someone is going to ride my ass for calling someone her / she instead of they. FFS we have fascists in office because of bullcrap like that.
Also- so happy for Sinclaire Johnson! After a string of injuries the last couple of years she made the tough decision of changing coaches and training methodology and it seems to be the right decision!
Agree. Personally, I think Sinclaire J is way more talented than practically any other female 1500m runner out there. Maybe unfair, but there was a suspicion that she just wasn’t training as hard as her competitors (probably due to her remarks about not liking the long sessions and preferring speed work when she was originally with BTC). Maybe that’s changed - she certainly got extremely unlucky by missing out in the last Oly team and running 3.55. A really hard break. Good to see her make this World team (assuming she gets in on World rank, as opposed to qualifying time which it doesn’t look like she has?).
I get that American distance running is in something of a Renaissance, but this meet fell flat for me. Yeah outdoors is shaping up great but too many big names skipped their national indoor championship. I understand they don't want to go to China in March, but that is a lame excuse for not going to New York in February. Hocker, Nuguse, Fisher, all are in shape and have been racing within the last month, why don't they want to cap off the indoor season with Usatf Nationals? They could have deferred their spot to worlds like so many other athletes are doing. When asked, they all have a similar stock answer of, well I'm not going to go to worlds so I don't want to run USAs. This seems like such a fake excuse

Lol. With all the doping suspicions swirling about, I can't believe Lewis used that word. Read the room, dude. Imagine if Shelby had won and was being interviewed by Lewis? Lol.

Well getting standards or chasing a world record I do get. For Nuguse, I’d agree it’s a tad weird as he’s going to run a 3K at BU I guess just to get a PB? It didn’t sound like he’d go after the WR but maybe that is a target. It’s not a philosophical thing with the OAC that’s for sure. Fisher, it’d just be another hard race to add to the list which was 3 all-out races in 12 days. I can get passing on that. Cranny a bit strange to skip this though sounds like she got sick. I think Nur is hurt so that’s why he’s not there.
Agreed, ocean breeze is an awesome facility but for a US champs meet armory is a much better venue if it's NYC area
Dumbest comment ever. OB is faster, has more space for warm-up, better air quality, looks a thousand times better on TV/presentaion, better/more professional staff and you can actually see the track from your seats without paying $200, and even those you have to stand up and lean over the railing.
Sorry if this got addressed somewhere, but does anyone know why Bryce Hoppel didn’t race this weekend? In his Letsrun interview after Millrose he specifically said he was intending to defend his US Indoor title.
