2025 USATF Indoor Championships

Akins and Hiltz won indoor titles in the 800 and 1500 on Sunday after winning the same events at the 2024 Olympic Trials. In the women's sprints, Alexis Holmes (50.51) dominated the 400 and Celera Barnes (7.11) upset Jacious Sears in the 60.

Hoey now trails only Wilson Kipketer (1:42.67) on the world all-time list indoors at 800m as Kessler put on a front-running masterclass to win the 1500m after claiming the 3000m on Saturday.

Kessler beat Jacobs, 7:38.00 to 7:38.02, in a sensational last-lap duel as Sam Gilman (7:38.64) was a surprising 3rd. Grant Holloway improved to 69-0 in the 60m hurdles while former DII star Wes Ferguson impressed in the 800 prelims.

Hiltz edged Houlihan just before the line to win a great race, while Houlihan is heading back to World Indoors in her first year back from a doping ban.

There is a broadcast crew in place in Staten Island but it remains remains unclear where Saturday's events will be shown and whether they will be shown live or only available after the fact on pay-per-view.

The women's distance fielsd are LOADED - the 3,000 (Shelby Houlihan, Nikki Hiltz, Emily Mackay, Whittni Orton) and 1500 (Houlihan, Hiltz, Heather MacLean, Sinclaire Johnson) may be the races of the meet, while the high school junior Wilson faces a strong field in the men's 400.

Kessler also reveals that despite breaking the old indoor mile WR at Millrose he was upset as he wanted the victory.
