What a stupid post. At what point was Jakob ever ten seconds faster than everyone else?
Anyway, wake up.
Some guy called Gary Martin just ran 3:48, smashing his PR in the distance by over five seconds, ranking eighth in the world all-time, scaring the best time of Hicham El Guerrouj and over a second faster than the PB of Bernard Lagat, one of history's greatest indoor milers.
This is all about technological advancement: faster shoes, faster tracks, pH doping with bicarb, etc.
Just like cycling, and swimming in the super-suit era, "breakthroughs" are coming every season and are down to who gets on the new gear first. As soon as Jakob or any one of a half dozen Kenyans use the same gear, they will "improve," too.
Do you think there is another reason that America is suddenly recording so many WRs and highly ranked times, after being absent from top-10 lists for years?? 🤣🤣🤣
That's cute.
