Actually, I’m tiring of both of their antics. Long gone are the days when elite runners in the same events quietly and tactfully measured one another, at the best saying little about one another, at the worst giving a back handed compliment. These Genz Z self absorbed motormouths can’t keep their mouths shut. Get on the track and just run. Because in a few years you will be a footnote.
True, best comment of the thread. I feel like a de facto moderator assessing the quality and accuracy of each comment and post in space and time. I do reprise this job role really well actually. But the problem comes when who will assess my comments then? Somebody better and greater than me could only do that but there is none so far on LRC!
100 marks for this top comment here!
This is why El G the goat. Only emotion he ever showed was after his Olympic 5000m win over Kipchoge and Bekele.
I think the Pre quips a joke? Jakob had won 3 in a row before last year. The Worlds/Olympics of course is the meet where you know everyone will be there. Next up is DL Final which some may skip then down to the more prestigious DLs like Pre where it’s hit or miss
He doesn't watch any of these races just say some nonsense based upon what he reads about them here and what he thinks will rile up fans of Ingebrigtsen.
Nothing Kerr says about racing will ever be taken seriously by anyone when he, by his own admission, says winning the European championships wouldn't mean anything to him when Jakob always races it.
Kerr isn't as interested in the minor titles as Ingebrigtsen is. They are the only ones Jakob can now win over the 1500.
That’s right! This is how we get along Armstrongluv if you don’t mind me saying! Only real inexperienced beginners of the sport will ever dare put any weight on regional titles.
I mean let’s be honest when Kenyan or Ethiopian athletes won African championship titles did we ever go all crazy and over the moon as when they did win Olympic and world champs titles?
Inexperienced newbies like snowflakes need to take a leaf out of the real experts on the board such as me, Armstrongluv, Coevett and Khamis and know that regional titles are for kids!!
World champs and Olympic titles are for real masculine men and are what counts!! 😎😎

Exactly sweetheart!!
I have been trying to say this a thousand times over in many different ways and words. I’m trying to exhort the spirituality and stoicism required of the greatest clean miler of all space and all time. And how this is inseparable from the anaerobic and aerobic operation of the body!!
you guys didn’t want to listen to a space-time savant like me sighzzz……😪😪
Tears of reverence and worship just now drip down my eyes right now just thinking about how El G exemplifies Seneca and Epictetus only with Abrahamic influence. He was truly mind and body IN ONE, he has mastered the ability to contain the lusts of his flesh which every single athlete in the current generation greatly lacks! To this ability is reason why no room exists in him to cheat and dope!
This is how I analyse and deduce!

The WC and the Olympics and Prefontaine are where the best compete. They obviously don't compete in the Euros or Jakob wouldn't win.

It’s the harsh truth but you are not wrong that at 3 in a row losses trying to execute a front running playbook you can say he can’t be expected to win the ultimate unpaced championship race. He can win in this fashion vs. all but the very very best.
It’d be unfair to say that Jakob is worth being mocked a la the Buffalo Bills of the 80s, he is a champion just at an event (5000) he’s either better-suited for, or just approaches more realistically when it comes to tactics. So I think you go too far in that regard.
Excuse me what are you writing senor? Por que mucho run on sentences, syntax errors and simply nonsensical mumble jumble? I don’t follow what you are saying for the first time ever on LRC and after you had supposedly won the best commenter award?
It just shows me you are unsure of your own defence of Jakob! Your incoherent comment could Be construed as you showing royal deference to our LRC savant Armstrongluv. 🤭🤭

I don’t think so? Do you know the sport well? If you do you will know that regional titles are for kids and winning it beyond your 1st 2 titles and when you are new to the sport like a starry eyed teenager whichever comes first is worthless.
In fact the winning prestige of regional titles follow a parabolic relationship with time which peaks at one point because of either one of 2 scenarios described above and declines thereafter. Meaning the more regional titles you keep winning based on the scenarios set out above the more embarrassing it is for you!!
Get it now?! Jakob ought to be embarrassed for continuing to win regional tittle without the company of commensurate Olympic and world champs titles especially in the 1500m! I don’t care about the 5000m.

We are only nine days into 2025 and the Kerr-Ingebrigtsen war of words has already resumed.
On an episode of the Citius Mag Podcast that was released on Thursday, Josh Kerr offered his thoughts on Jakob Ingebrigtsen not signing up as a Racer for Grand Slam Track:
"I think it's smart that he didn't sign up, to be honest. In any non-paced race, he hasn't won in the last couple of years. And so you're going to throw him in a bunch of non-paced races? It seems silly, to do that. It's gonna expose most of his tactical stuff. And if he was in the 800-1500 group, watching him run the 800 would be a lot like a deer on ice."
The amusing thing to me is that neither of them are giving the other any credit at all. Ingebrigtsen is certainly more vulnerable in non-paced races, but he was brilliant in winning the European champs last year without rabbits -- a meet that Kerr notably skipped.
Meanwhile Kerr's first race of 2024 was a world indoor record in the 2 mile that he announced he was targeting months ahead of time. Now it helped a lot that Kerr had Grant Fisher pushing the pace up front in that race, but Kerr said he was going for the WR and got it.
Josh Kerr isn’t even in the top 3 1500m runners. Marco Arop and Jakob Ingebrigtsen are a close #1 in their respective events. Everything from Kerr are just words. Ingebrigtsen is right to not take him seriously.
Yeah I don't know why people try to talk down on Kerr. He is a great athlete and is a 3:27, 8:00 runner. I think Jakob is better however that does not mean Kerr is not a bad athlete in any way but there are people on this board who suck up too much.
Didn´t this thread come up because Kerr was talking down on Jakob?
Don´t the people who oppose Kerr´s claims just point to the undeniable facts?
I was referring to when people have called him a bad athlete.

But he is racing GST. Is winning a GST race on par with Euros?
Team GB placed third in the men's race, with all runners behind Jakob. Where was Duck Duck Kerr
Jakob's "unpaced win" count includes 2 Olympic gold, 2 WC gold, 6 Euro track gold, and 8 Euro XC gold. How are Kerr's numbers? Exactly two global golds -- one indoor. 😆
You could be a road sweeper or trash collector just doing repetitive stuff under instruction but you could never be a quantum physicist or space-time savant like me. You know why? Well your comment over here is so skewed and inequitable under the weight of the sacred laws of physics that I’m biting my own lips in protestation because it shows not enough effort in thought on your part.
Get it? It’s simple you are required in this instance to compare apples to apples and not to oranges. And if you do compare apples to oranges in excepcional casos I haven’t seen you present the extenuating reasons for doing so either!
Very terrible enough said….🙄🙄🙄

Another dumb poster here. Goodness me, are they all girls as well? Nothing is worse than to be girly and dumb at the same time!
Kerr is the real deal? He is clean, no PED not ever! He is talented, he is cute! You can’t say that for the Americans!

I liked Kerr up until the point he started his sh1ttalking. I'd respect him so much more if: 1. He didn't sh1t on Jakob on every podcast he was on 2. Raced more frequently (Without looking it up I'm pretty certain that among the top 10-15 guys in the 1500m/mile in the world, Kerr is the one who competes the most rarely)
Another thing: Kerr is currently in his prime years. He's 27 at the moment (turning 28 in october) most 1500m runners seem to peak somehwere between the year they turn 23 and the year they turn 27 (There are of course some exceptions, but most runners land inside that window of age). It's pretty fair to say that Jakob has some advantage age-wise compared to Kerr (he's 3 years younger). And I do wonder if Kerr will suddenly stop with his trash-talk when he realizes that he's past his prime. It will happen eventually. 3:27.79 might be his lifetime best, and it might not. He might be able to improve upon it (although I don't think it will be by a big margin). His best chance is probably in Monaco. I'm around 50/50 when it comes to him improving his PB. I'm excited for the 2025 season (both indoor and outdoor), and I'll hope we get to see as many Kerr-Jakob face-offs as possible. With Hocker, Nuguse, Kessler, Laros, Cheruiyot in the mix would be even better.
