Once the house settlement becomes official, expect a lot of current men's coaches to be done along with their programs. scholarships across the country are going to be slashed, roster spots slashed... we might as well rename this thread to "2025 Programs that got cut"

I less convinced the House settlement will be approved as-is. It's straight up illegal without collective bargaining.
But assuming it is approved, I think the program cuts will come in 2027, 2028. Schools will try to make non-revenue sports work for a while, and then we will see tennis, golf, swimming and diving, wrestling, men's volleyball, fencing, etc get cut, and I think XC/TF will be cut in the next year after the others. 2029, 2030.

This will happen sooner if the house settlement is not approved. P4's wanty to control the money and funnell it to Fball and Bball. P4 pro league = bye bye olympic sports. NAIA in the best position to benefit by default if the NCAA collapses.

That’s sad to die having let a job suck the life out of you for years, you don’t even consider retiring and spending more time with your wife and kids/grandkids. You die forgotten in a few weeks cuz you chose your precious job over your family
Now you see my point with reference to the last post. Although seemed unexpected, still goes to show you can put your life into this and die and who will really care? There’s no post about this man passing no where on this site. RIP to this man and I hope his family can find peace during this tragic time.
Pat Henry? Dennis Shaver? Those are the big ones that are likely the oldest and might be retiring? But again they both seem to be doing well so why walk away from $ but if they do retire who replaces them? Big shoes to fill and neither has anyone on staff that can fill those shoes
Plenty of folks can replace Pat Henry (not his nephew) on staff and around the country.

A lot of negativity and jealousy over coaching positions. Not every coach is miserable all the time. In my case, I spend tons of time with family and still am very busy at work. I'm not miserable because my job is awesome. Maybe there are some people who aren't happy with their position but I hope they figure it out.

To take one of the highest paying jobs with no income tax at one of the best track-resourced universities in the country and have some of the best facilities in the country?
