ESPN coverage really really sucks, they can’t give splits in a timely manner. I have to keep going to the NYRR site for splits. They can’t even give the halfway split for women on tv.
We're so spoiled after that amazing peacock olympics coverage. I have ESPN 2 and Euro2 streams up and neither have shown jacksh*t. Euro2 has been on wheelchair for the past 30mins and ESPN 2 is all commercials. Just awful all around.
If you download the app, you can get a stream without commentary of the lead pack for both men and women.
Holy f I say this every time but this non-sport needs to go away. Can you imagine if they put a game of para handball on tv that they made you watch for the first hour of the NBA finals? And you're just supposed to watch the remaining time of the game?
There's more hate than there is tolerance and it gets worse every time I see this BS.
Even when I was at Berlin they made us wait before entering the corral and had like 5 f starts for these goons. Flames and everything 5x.
Surprised they started this slow, "championship" style racing or not. Is the wind worse than it appears? For the women Obiri will likely win regardless of pace, but a slow pace just makes her late kick that much tougher for anyone else to overcome.
It has been said a few times already, but for those of you complaining about not seeing the pro runners. There's a free dedicated stream for the men and women's pro race, no ads / interruptions. It's on the TCS NYC marathon app.
Every year we astonish how bad the coverage is. Ads, stupid interviews and wheelchair racing but the 2 main races nowhere to be seen. No wonder nobody in the world watches this sport.
And where is that ticker tape banner on top of the TV screen to show the leaders? Didn’t have it last year either. A flash of the top 2-3 in the lead for 15 seconds and then we’re back to some BS and commercials.
I hate the ticker at top. Well it's ok.What I'd like to see is m ile by mile splits. And if TCS wants to show their analytics, convert it for the hills to an equivalent pace.
