The truth of the matter is that Rojo actually has very little to say about the sport. His analysis of races generally amounts to pointing out that an athlete could have saved some distance by running on the inside. He is in fact incapable of saying anything insightful about track races. This is a problem when you've tried to brand yourself an ambassador or defender of the sport, because all it does is confirm to laypeople that track is a boring sport. But we all know that track isn't a dull sport, it's just that Rojo has a dull mind.
I'm a big fan of the previews. I'm only really interested in the 100, mid-distance excluding steeple, and marathon but they have good previews for other events as well. And the podcast amuses me
To be fair to Rojo, Jon can be a bit of a know-it-all when it comes to trivia / grammar. He doesn't need to correct Rojo and Wejo every time their speaking yips surface.

That's a generous outlook. The flip side is to imagine if someone else who purports to be an expert regularly made errors of the magnitude of Rojo's. He would be the first to bash another outlet if its figurehead did things like confuse the 5,000/10,000 Olympic champion with an 800-meter runner from the same country. "I FELL OUT OF MY CHAIR when I heard them mix up Beatrice Chebet and Mary Moraa," etc.

yeah it's so terrible that Gault wants to get the facts right whereas Rojo merely wants people to worship him
But i'm stunned many of you are thinking I'm in any way minimizing domestic violence. I'm doing the opposite.
No, you were doing exactly what was alleged, you were minimizing it. Minimizing something is when you compare something trivial, with something much more serious. Like a teenager saying their parents making them wash the dishes is worse than slavery, or when anyone compares pretty much anything to the Holocaust, or when a grown ass man compares how an employee feels when his prick boss acts like a prick towards him, to how a woman feels when her husband beats the living sh*t out of her.
You literally have no f'ing clue what you are talking about as shown by the fact that you doubled down on your idiotic statement.
100%. I've been on this site for 20-ish years and Rojo's lack of self-awareness is comical to the point that I wonder what the clinical standards are for narcissism or similar. Thinks he's the smartest guy in the room (lol), blows off any and all criticism of him or the site or the moderation as unwarranted, unfair, cancel culture, etc, never admits fault, and hates to be challenged and will push back on even the most trivial issues. Classic example of guy who was born on third base and thinks he hit a triple.
Jon needs to correct RoJo so often because RoJo gets names wrong so often . This time it was ridiculous , he repeatedly called Beatrice Chebet Mary Moraa. This was after he snapped at Jon for saying RoJo’s microphone sounded muffled .
You can tell who has no friends in real life. Friends debate things intensely all the time, especially sports. Close friends will beat each other up in a pickup basketball game but be best friends after.
If anything, this shows Rojo looks at Gault like a brother, and that's endearing.
Correct. I've always said I treat Jonathan like a younger version of Weldon. I love both of them.
For the record, I apologized to Jon on the phone. He was on speakerphone with my wife (who is Jon's #1 fan).
But i'm stunned many of you are thinking I'm in any way minimizing domestic violence. I'm doing the opposite. If you understood my analogy, you'd realize I was saying I was in the wrong and Jonathan didn't deserve my tirade and I'm stunned he apologized to me.
Yes, I'll still argue he shouldn't have gone out of his way to interrupt me while I was talking and correct me about the name I got wrong (as I realized it and was about to correct myself) but I shouldn't have freaked out on air when he did.
The problem with the modern world is in the day and age of iphones, people can almost never have a bad moment that is forgotten about. You lose your temper and if someone catches it on video, it stays forever (thankfully I deleted it). Back in the day, if you had a disagreement, it wasn't a big deal as people moved on like Jonathan and I are doing. Their minds glossed over exactly what happened. Nowadays, you get a video replay for the rest of you life.
A relative says to kids all the time, "This is the real world - not heaven. Life isn't perfect."
Having a bad moment isn't the end of the world.
Stop the cancel culture and grow some thicker skin people.
And I leave you with this....let us all be unburdened by what has been
Classic. But prepare yourself for her victory. Identity/grievance politics and abortion rights Trump EVERYTHING else. Endless wars siphoning money from the US? Don’t worry about it. Debt to GDP 120% and growing? Nothing to see here, move along, ignore those who want a fiscal commission for government accountability or to restrain government spending. Border invasion and insurrection? Nothing to see here, move along. Nancy Pelosi, who enabled 1/6 for it’s prime optics and Kabuki Theatre and who once upon a time said we really needed to restrain illegal immigration has changed her tune to we need unfettered illegal immigration because we need those voters. Don’t worry about Venezuelan gangs.
“Existential threat to Democracy” coming soon to a city near you.

seriously. Rojo went on for minutes calling her Mary Moraa, and all Gault did was say "Beatrice Kebet." Then Rojo screamed at Gault for interrupting him and also said that he was about to correct himself

Is that seriously what happened? I won't listen to the podcast because of how unintelligible and incoherent rojo/wejo are, but based on this thread I assumed he was simply mispronouncing Chebet's last name. If he continued to refer to her as an entirely different person, then of course he needed to be corrected on the spot. When that happens, anyone with a functioning brain would realize their mistake, apologize, and quickly continue with their thoughts.
