What's wrong with these women? Did they think Allie Wilson was taking it out too fast? She hit the 400 in just under 60 opened a big gap. They should have been all over her. In both the 2nd and 3rd heats I have no sympathy for those not making it through on time. Go back to training and relearn pacing.

It’s not just the 400 split, it’s that she accelerated dramatically. You can see from the 100m splits she went immediately from running 16-low to 14-high, and I’m sure Akins et al thought they could reel her back with more measured acceleration.
