I think you misunderstood me, Bro. Generally speaking, running is preferable to cross-training, but not if more running leads to injury. The best training program for any individual is the one that keeps that individual gaining fitness while avoiding injury. That program will vary by athlete.
I don't doubt that her training is what is best for her. Some are questioning whether her training method is better than the training methods of everyone else. As you say, generally speaking running is preferrable to cross-training. One explanation would be is that she is simply more talented than everyone else. How fast would she be if she could handle more running without injury?
That's the question: is she really that more talented than everyone else? If she was able to train as others do it would stand to reason she would be faster still. That means quite a bit faster than 14:50 for the 5k. 14:40? 14:30? Faster? She's that "talented"?
Tell us what the next 5 best NCAA runners are doing in their training rather than making assumptions. Just because some former D3 guys here ran 100MPW to get to 15 minutes doesn't mean that is what the top females in the NCAA are doing. You can't list the training of any top runners.
She does the same amount of training. And the best athletes don't do more training. There are thousands of 15 minute 5k guys doing more training than the 13 minute guys. I know you won't address my point because you can't grasp the fact that talent varies. The best athlete in every event is more talented.
Please provide real information rather than violating the site rules. Parker trains more than her competitors. That is a fact. It is different training.
You mean that runner who was way ahead of the competition in high school? Armstrong and Astro tell us that the top high school runners are doping. They finally admitted to what we all suspected.

That must be the one. 1500 progression by grade
7 4:36.6
8 4:24.4
9 4:18.5
10 4:14.5
just screams of a an unexplained change! But apparently stopped in 11 (4:24) and 12 (4:20.8) grades!

I don't have to. It is not disputed that the top distance runners in the sport run high mileage. Valby can not only be compared with top women college athletes - who I would bet are doing much more than 30mpw - but international athletes, who are all in the region of much higher mileage.

I didn't say the top high school runners are doping. I said doping is in schools, which means it is likely some of them will be. That doesn't necessarily mean all. But some look more likely than others.

Where is the data that shows the improvement made by dopers? I am very interested to see it. It would help all of us to deal with these conversations and accusations. You claim that Tuohy's progression doesn't follow it but you didn't forst show what it looks like. I doubt anyone is able to gather data on the topic because even convicted dopers deny doping so we have no way to know when they started or when they made changes in their doping. I assume that a person who started at age 14 would have the progression and accomplishments of Tuohy.

I become like you? You are assuming what training others do. You are assuming what the typical progression is of a doper. You are assuming that Parker is not just way more talented than Tuohy. You pretty much only assume things.
Please provide the data. We all would love to see it regardless of which runners then resemble it. Unlike the Tuohy crazies, we want to look at things objectively.

I don't think I have said any of those things. In fact in one of the numerous threads on Valby I said I thought she was very driven and was training very hard. I don't think I have made any claims on what other training is like.
