I have them taking #7 at XC, definitely a rebuild year.
When I say "rebuild" I mean it in a positive way. I love building something new, being part of the process, whether building a new software system or a new XC team.

I can see NAU, AL, BYU clearly should be ahead of NC St. Then maybe TN and if they perform in XC OR and WA. But not so sure about who else. Hartman running 15:28 should be solid, along with Stephens (if healthy), Smith, then Gapes, Rauber, maybe Michalak might get them close to 200 points and they might be very competitive with all but the top 3.
Valby is a redshirt junior so she has another year of eligibility.
I am assuming she will move on. "Last one best one" I heard
Wouldn’t be surprised if she competes for one last time. 4 of their top 5 at NCAA were juniors last year so I think next year is looking to be a “special” year for Florida.

Who knows, maybe Valby pulls an old school pre/Simpson/Nuguse and makes Olympics, but still goes back to school.
The finish college as star vs disappear as pro is an interesting debate. Just imagine the hype and buildup if Tuohy had still been in school for '24 indoor. Dmr, mile v Ramsden, 3/5 v Valby could all have been great, instead it was quiet.
NC State seems to be starting this as a trend. people have already forgotten Jessica Jazwinski committed back in December. Thats a great class already between just the two of them. and they got Michalak and Preisano the previous April.
They just picked up another 2025 middle distance stud in Alex Dow. Has run 2:06 and 4:18.
Sadie supposedly had a 4.3-4.5 GPA. No way would I go to NC State. I would have gone to Stanford. Same Katelyn Tuohy. Her running career is pretty much over. I would prefer at Stanford diploma and resume than NC State. And Dalia Frias made a MASSIVE mistake going to Duke years ago. After an OK freshman year, she decided to enter the Portal. Why? Then she announces she is going to UCLA, and ONE day later says she is actually transferring to Oregon. So she went from a top 5 PUBLIC school to a dud school academically, and promptly broke BOTH of her feet. Should have stayed at UCLA near her parents in Manhattan Beach just for the academics, resume-- because her 1 year running career in college sadly ended after Freshman year. Same Natalie Cook.

I guess you missed that Frias was just 27th at the Gans Creek Classic.

Loser bumping a 1 year old thread to bag on women & programs he doesn't like. Seek help, pal.

I don’t understand why people do this. It’s just sad

Just some of the reasons. There are others.
Their lives probably aren't great so they feel a need to degrade and ridicule someone else in an attempt to make themselves feel better
Jealousy
The subject of their scorn beat their little Mia at some point. Dad or mom was hoping their little Mia would be a star in college and when it didn't happen felt the need to start badmouthing runners better than their daughter. This happens in a lot of sports, especially soccer & volleyball.
An incel that couldn't get the time of day from one of the women he is badmouthing.

If you are truly concerned with academics, she should have just remained at Duke.
If you follow the tea leaves, all 3 of the transfergate ladies went to UCLA equally to run for Brosnan AND to be near home. Prior to Brosnan, there was no strong college program in SoCal.
Of course that didn't work out...so they all moved on to Oregon, which you will note, is not close to home either.
All 3 are still running, even with battling injuries.

Sadie was not eligible for admission to Stanford and had to remove it from her list of options. Her coursework and academic record did not meet the university’s requirements, and she was considered an average student. Hence picking NC State

has stanford raised the standards recently for athletes? I know multiple athletes from out of state that got into stanford with much worse gpa than that back in the late 2000's/early 2010's

Sadie had to remove Stanford from consideration because her academic workload in high school did not align with the university’s admission requirement. Even for a star athlete. She chose an easier course load in high school and did not pursue the advanced classes typically expected by Stanford. While NC State will undoubtedly provide her with strong opportunities, Stanford represents a higher academic threshold that she had not reached.
