Whaddya think about Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the "President of Mexico." It'd be funny if it weren't so serious.
That kind of thing happens to normal people all the time. Biden’s brain is full of all kinds of information about Mexico, Egypt and most other countries of the world, or at least those that play a large role on the international stage. So he has Egypt on mind and means to say Egypt, but when he opens his mouth to speak, the word Mexico comes out instead. Young people with infinitely less information do similar things all the time and laugh it off. Similar to the situation with referring to Emanuel Macron as Francois Mitterrand. Biden has been steeped in foreign policy and international affairs for more than 50 years. So occasionally a name gets mixed up. Now it is true, I admit, that DT would never have made that mistake, but that’s because he doesn’t know who Francois Mitterrand was, at least not until someone pointed out Biden’s mistake to him.
