Houlihan is obviously banned. Cranny, Andrews, and Schweizer will not do the 1500, opting for the 5000 or 10000. Kate Grace will be almost 36 years old and has just had a child. McGee will be 32 and still has not broken 4:00; I doubt she ever will at this point. Not sure what MacLean's status is; being a New Balance runner and having attended UMASS I thought for sure she would be doing the NBIGP. Mu will not do the 1500 at the Trials. Schlachtenhaufen and Osika haven't PRed in almost three years and haven't really challenged 4:00 yet.
What remains for contenders:
Purrier St. Pierre
MacLean???
Johnson
Wiley
Hiltz
Mackay
If Hiltz runs like she did in 2023, I think you have to consider her a near lock. Purrier was a big question mark coming back from giving birth but last night showed she is very fit and ready to make the team. We may have Johnson, Wiley, Mackay, and possibly MacLean fighting for the #3 spot.
The Trials schedule always follows the Olympic schedule and the 800 is first in Paris. Wiley may opt for the 800 and if she doesn't make it, run the 1500.
