Was hoping for a star pro to enter to help push the pace under the 13:07 Oly Q . . . however, Willy Fink may be the most accomplished post-collegian in the race . . . still believe the winner will be faster than Ky's 13:11 from last year.
Same w/women's 5k . . . Rodenfels looks to be the fastest post-collegian . . . but her pr is 15:08 from last year's win . . . note that Sinclaire Johnson is entered here . . . doubt she would fly cross-country just to rabbit . . . maybe she stays with Valby . . . but w/o Tuohy & Lemngole . . . not expecting a 14:52 Oly Q from anyone . . . unless Parker is even more preternaturally gifted than we thought.
This entry list was just for the distance events . . . probably in the 800, looks like at least one of W&W will be back at it again:
Might we also have a Michaela Rose sighting?

I missed Maia Ramsden in the 3000. But Markezich vs a few fast milers (Barnett, Asekol, Ramsden, Maatoug) looks interesting. Anna Camp pacer or racer?
Missed Bunnage in 5000.
Curious about Lemngole. Tuohy I assumes this means college career is over (or is she still under the weather?)
Jepkirui in that 3000 as well. Looks to have potential for a lot of great times w 5 of top 10 XC finishers all of whoma have speed.

There were more letsrun rumors posted yesterday that Tuohy would not run BU but was deciding between shoe sponsors and would announce soon. I know she is graduating but I don't really understand her rush to go pro after the last two championships. Unless she is just over it. It seems like redshirting indoors would be a better move at this point. Odd we are not seeing Lemngole on here

Rodenfels has been trying to break 15 for awhile and Johnson has run 8:37. I suspect Johnson can break 15 but I wonder where she wants it paced. I am assuming it will be paced for the Oly standard. Curious choice for Johnson, she must be working more on her strength.
With Valby and fast pacing I think this is a good enough group to break 15 on the right day. Not a lot of pros this year, probably because of the Olympic base building. We will start to see them in Feb I guess.
I will just say that it is possible Johnson is rabbiting (but I guess she is running). Emma Coburn and Dani Jones rabbited last year but they had teammates in the race.
Valby and Johnson aren't teammates (but they are both Nike and Valby is the newest Nike star), so maybe she was asked? Johnson also rabbited the 5k at the diamond league final.
Valby will run 14:52. Pacers just get in the way for her.

Possible that Sinclaire is racing the 800 or another event earlier in the day . . . then pacing the 5k fast heat . . .
Valby will crush the NCAA record. Tuohy will be sitting at home. She blew her chance at a nice contract after her 3000 last indoor season. But she got greedy and expected that she was still improving. Seems like she peaked ealy May and it has been downhill ever since. Something looks off. She is sluggish and doesn't have the look in her eyes of someone who expects to win.

Well, Tuohy recently won the ACC XC Championships (individual and team), Southeast Region NCAA Championships (individual and team) and NCAA Championships (team while sick, top 10 finish.) She also was clearly burnt out at the outdoor championships.
How many women won their conference meets and regional meets? She bombed multiple events at outdoor. She lost to Valby twice in XC. She just isnt the runner that she once was. Those are facts, not opinions. And claiming the team title as if she ran as well as Valby is silly. Do the the other 6 NC State runners get to count the team title as if they ran as well as Valby or even Tuohy? The team title is great for those 7 runners. But when careers are over and we are trying to determine who is a better runner, track times and individual accomplishments in Xc are what are looked at.

Where did I mention Valby?

KT ran 4 XC races this season. Finished second at Nuttycombe in her rustbuster first race that is not a championship race and ran very well. Her next 2 races, which were championship races, she won. In the XC Championships, props to Valby! But KT was sick and incredibly, against all odds. led the team to the team championship, which was the XC highlight of the year.
If by "multiple" you mean a single 1500, then ok. Lol. We will never know how xc nationals would have played out but for bad luck. I have a feeling Tuohy came into the race confident that she had closed the gap. But fine. Four individual titles, three team titles and four ncaa track records to two titles and zero records. Valby still has catching up to do.
1500 prelim. She was snippy with the reporter after losing. Then bombed final. Then chickened out of 5000. Then lost to a bunch of pros. Then got dropped by Valby at Nuttycombe. Then 5th at XC. Then another silly story to try to salvage a chance at a contract. She is getting desperate. Her fans are becoming embarassing.
Rumor has it she is signing a deal this week.
Yes I know. It is 40% of what was being offered 6 months ago.
I am sure you have reviewed it carefully.
