You guys are right. Addy should totally have left Lauren and Huntington to run for Mark Wetmore. Who had a long term relationship with a former athlete and staff member working under him. But that ship has sailed. Now that she is going pro which upstanding moral pillar do you want leading her career? Mike Smith, who is married to a former athlete? Jerry Schumacher who is married, but spends a ton of time with Shalane on the road? Danny Mackey? Need I go on?
At the end of the day you all have to admit you only hate Lauren because she coached at a small school and landed a big recruit. You don’t want Addy to have a coach with better morals. You want her to have one you are used to seeing sign top talent. I suggest you start adding Lauren Johnson to your list as after coaching Addy to 1:57.64 and 3:59.18 I wouldn’t be surprised if others seek her out.
Um, where any of those other coaches banned by SafeSport? Seriously, these other examples are troubling, but they are quite different in scope than this particular case IMHO.

Also, I am saddened to hear that you are “proud” to knowingly disseminate pornographic material that was intended by law to be confidential or anonymous for the sake of minors’ well-being and safety (that you KNEW would be outed in 3 seconds and did nothing about it when it was).
I obviously wouldn’t trust my daughters with Nick, and I also wouldn’t trust them with you. Your treatment of Wiley is terrible and criminal, and I hope people treat your daughter(s) in the future with more decency and humanity.
I agree with you about the spoofers and the vote manipulations, but this has been done by "both sides" and by LRC themselves, so I am not surprised people do it.
I am not affiliated with either side, but have been extremely disappointed by all connected to this for various reasons.
As for Huntington being a borderline cult, I would say that about 75% of XC teams are "borderline cult-ish" in some way. After Wiley blew it up and everyone became aware of the issues, how do you square that the major concerns still exist? Are you one of those that still say that all the Huntington sports teams need to be terminated (lol)? I don't see this angle at all.
The average track viewer, actual fans of the sport, know next to nothing about Wiley, Huntington, Johnson, etc., except maybe a vague idea that there was controversy and he's gone. Wiley will get a Nike contract easily.
