this test was from March 2023... didn't she retire after 2021?
Tons of athletes have failed whereabouts etc and been banned post career because they don't care anymore.. I'm sure Ryan Hall would fail a test if he was still tested too.
A group of trail runners have signed a pledge as part of Run Clean, Get Dirty— a platform that showcases clean athletes in trail running. It was started by Paul Kirsch and David Roche and featured athletes on the site have taken a pledge to be clean. If caught for doping, they all agree to be banned for life from winning prize money or getting any recognition in the sport.
Notable trail runners who have taken this pledge include Kilian Jornet and Emelie Forsberg and Canadians Calum Neff, Ellie Greenwood and Gary Robbins– the Vancouver runner who is especially famous for participating in this year’s Barkley Marathons.
There's similar articles from Trail Runner and others about that pledge that they all signed, including Camille Herron, calling for lifetime bans.
Something tells me these women would have a more rational view of Allie’s case than you
of course when a white american girl gets popped they will. not the case for black african males though

this is off topic from allie o and i am no expert at weightlifting, but if i had to take a guess, i think ryan hall is clean with his weight training. ryan hall is currently mostly bulk and not much strength. if you watch the video where nick symmonds challenges ryan hall in a pull up competition, nick symmonds won. this isn't suprising in the least, though. nick symmonds likely focuses on strength while ryan hall focuses on hypertrophy which is what gave him the bulk in the first place. unlike every meat head in the gym, ryan hall is a monster when it comes to endurance so it makes sense how ryan hall is able to handle more hypertrophy in the gym than all the other people who never ran more 25 miles per week in their life.
I see an earlier comment of mine was deleted. I guess it was just too harsh (lol). I am confused on why we are now giving quarter and making concessions to any pos doper. Any ideas?
People make mistakes, and they should be forgiven. They should also understand that they should have NOTHING to do with the sport anymore.

Are you a real MF MORAN, or just playing dumb to troll? An honest dumb mistake does not make someone a "pos doper". You don't get only 4 months ban if the antidoping agency believes you are really trying to cheat and gained any extended benefit. They essentially said to make sure to get a TUE next time in the press release because they certainly would have granted it for this drug, which decreases performance by all accounts in this thread.
"trail journalist" - isn't that an oxymoron? And who is Kilian? Is that the guy that faked an Everest summit?
Not this again. There's no proof that Kilian faked his Everest attempts. His documentation was on the skimpy side, but understandable from as someone who was also climber. You don't control the weather or the photos you can get in conditions when you are more worried about getting yourself safely up and down. Are you familiar with the limitations of the GPS watches operating on Everest under clouds and in battery saver mode? You get enough questionable GPS tracks just from skyscrapers or going around a track, or trying to acquire satellites in cloudy weather without the satellite positions preloaded, something that watches do now when you plug them in to charge... but not when you're on a weeks long expedition. On batter saver, where it needs to reaquire satellites every minute or whatever, the track is just not going to be good in difficult conditions.
The accusations came mainly from one dude, who was also accusing other FKT guys (Chad Kellogg) he was competing against. Sometimes those marathon/FKT investigators are wrong. It basically comes down to Kilian not having the data to convince the biggest doubters. That doesn't prove he didn't do what he said. You can be a legit doubter, but there is no proof that he cheated either. It comes down to taking his word or not. Same for anything you did this morning that no one else knows about. You can say you brushed your teeth, but you can't prove it.
Who cares whether it's an effective PED, masking agent, or something that actually decreases performance. How can one call themselves a professional runner and then fail to check the list before consuming any drug or supplement? She's an idiot. That alone deserves a four-month ban.
Didn't she test positive in March and then place second in the Carlsbad 5k a few days later? She'll have to return the prize money and she deserves it.
Allie should consider creating a registered Let's Run account with the handle "Allie Ostrander, Convicted Doper". She seems to have the type of irreverent sense of humor to have fun with that. At the very least, I expect her and Spencer to dress up as Bonnie and Clyde this Halloween.
By the way, is the LRC registered account "Shelby Houlihan, Convicted Doper" really Shelby? Would think it has to be.

There's no adult alive who hasn't done something dumb. Making mistakes, forgetting to check something, etc. makes that particular act stupid, but doesn't make someone an "idiot"... unless they keep repeating it. I was just reading on a different forum someone forgetting their bike on a roof rack and driving into his garage... happens(ed) all the time to people (and why most bikers shifted to hitch-mounted racks).
I don't know why you get off on calling someone an "idiot", when that person who clearly knows her (innocent!) mistake and is suffering massively from it already (that video people talked about a couple weeks ago or so, where she said she was in the worst place in her life mentally).

I agree with you, everyone is an idiot at times - including me. But right now it is Allie, and she's a professional runner, and this is a running forum. Get it?
