Some updates to this story. Emma recently posted on her instagram about this, and New Gen also posted an apology on their instagram account. Definitely some interesitng things in both posts.
Woah, notice the 7th slide on Emma's post where she says, "the DMs I received about people's experiences with Ben were very sad and disturbing."
Honestly, I've thought that New Gen was immature, irresponsible, cringey, punching down, etc, but I've never really taken the accusations about Ben being a creep seriously. It always felt like an easy way for anonymous people on the internet to get a dig in when really they just mean that he seems annoying/insufferable. Sounds like I may have been giving him too much benefit of the doubt.
I'm curious to know what the people at On are thinking about this whole situation given that they sponsored this New Gen Camp. The response has certainly been polarizing

People keep throwing around “minor” - I think these are all incoming college freshmen? They’re probably all 18 and weeks away from living on campus on their own, it’s not like this is a hs camp
That aside, there is an inherently weird dynamic having these mid20s micro-celebrities hosting a multi-night event for a group that includes some of the best 18 year old boy distance runners in the country and seemingly a bunch of 18 year old girls who run and like social media and are probably fans of those fast boys but are not actually the top girl runners in the country
My golden rule. Never trust a non runner who wants to have an impact in the running community. Admin, coaches, and worst of all photographers/content creators. They make themselves important, and eventually expose their nefarious motives.

This is extremely odd behavior. Putting a pic of herself in the slideshow was icing on the cake. Looking like a bad case of narcissism. Ironic that her gf (ex gf?) Hiltz just did a questionable shoot with Next Gen recently.
Fun fact - photographer is a 17 year old Asian American. And Emma Gee is trying to make this a white male oppression thing! Classic case of wannabe SJW and her bandwagoners storming in trying to stir up outrage without looking into any of the details.

Some of the campers were 18, while others were 17, including the photographer of the photos in question - so a minor in the eyes of the law
I know the fanboys are gonna hate this post, but this is the opposite of good for the sport sorry !! This is what went down:
1) photographer posts 2 photoshoots in the past week from the camp:
A. Girl dunking another girls head in a toilet bowl
B. Boy shoving girl in locker by her hair
2) Emma Gee comments on post that the bullying themes are disappointing
3) every creator and camper(including the girls) starts going after Emma that she doesn’t understand art. Nikki says not you guys bullying Emma for calling you out on bullying lol
4) Original photographer starts commenting themes of “you must be familiar with disappointment since your parents were when you came out” “must be disappointed men don’t find you attractive” etc
5) emma posts all this to her story (still there) calling them out and New Gen deleted all of Emma and Nikki’s comments BUT leaves the photos up
Ben Crawford has always rubbed me the wrong way and he has never seemed professional in comments or podcasts but if you’re going to run a camp for teenagers to create content please teach them how to receive criticism and not use “art” as an excuse to hide behind when they present something that some people find problematic.

Will never pay one dollar for anything connected to NewGen. (Who took down the original posts - ha! Don't even have the courage of their moron convictions.)

Emma Gee is a 26 year old who placed 9th at US Champs this year, and spends her free time arguing with high schoolers in Instagram comment sections, and mislabeling Asian Americans as “white males”.
Nikki [Hiltz] won US Champs 1500m this year, and just broke women’s mile AR last weekend. Our best shot to get a 1500m medal at World Champs next month. She is dating or used to date Emma Gee.
I had to Google Ben Crawford, he is a 23 year old runner who founded this Next Gen track club. His HS mile PR is a measly 4:44. He is trying to make US running more popular and well known.
