I am really bummed that KT will lose so much money in her contract. Maybe she should come back for XC to get her value back up.
Her value will only go down after she gets licked in the mouth by at least five runners at XC Nationals. She hit her high point and she is on the downslide. Happens to everyone at some point, some earlier than others. See Taylor Roe. She can go pro and get her a$ kicked by the pros or stay in college at get her a$ kicked by the collegians.

Is the first barrier of the steeplechase always that close to the start line????
Texas has an outside water jump as opposed to an inside water jump. So the start of the race is on the home stretch instead of the back stretch. So they are starting much closer to the first barrier which is always the one right after crossing the common finish line.
But doesn't that change the race? I know it's still 3000 meters but that seems really odd.
Are there separate records for tracks with water pits on the outside?
