We have merged two threads on this topic into 1 and kept the title of the longer thread. The other thread was called, "Adeline Johnson, high school senior, misses state due to biological male taking the last spot in California."
If only there were experienced professionals whose opinions could be consulted about the best course of treatment.
These experiments on the bodies of children only started quite recently, so there simply hasn't been enough time to establish a full picture of all the consequences the patients will see throughout the rest of their lives.
But you could start by having a look at why the Swedish National Board of Health - and similar institutions in several other countries - have begun reversing their recommendations in this area.
So it looks you didn’t care about the opinions of Swedish doctors before but now that it is a little more aligned with your narrative, you do, which sounds like you consider yourself the ultimate authority.
Your first para is applicable to many medications and therapies, e.g., ADHD medication or SSRIs among others whose long term effects we are still understanding. What incentive do you think American doctors have to chop off sex organs of unwitting teens against their own conscience and the Hippocratic oath? Would you let your child’s peepee be chopped off lightly? Why do you assume other parents would? Why should you have a say in others’ treatment options?
Hard to believe the person interviewing this guy can do so with a straight face and act as if it’s real. We live in cuckoo world. Can he not hear his voice?!
This really feels like there is no solution at this point, with trans participation in sports rising (due to less prejudice/bigotry against trans people and more acceptance).
What the hell do we do? Lose-lose-lose.
1) Allow trans to compete with actual women - trans have unfair advantage and steal medal/podium spots from real women.
2) Bar trans from sports - oppression, trans treated like low class citizens, which they don’t deserve
3) Separate trans category - if you make prize/recognition equal, it will just be dominated by lazy men or trolls who can’t win male category. If less prize/recognition (likely result), then trans will rightfully feel like their category is a joke and suffer basically same as above. 4) ????? am I missing an option or is there no hope ???

IMO the correct answer is #3 with an immense amount of ridicule for anyone who does it, like someone trying to fake it at the Special Olympics.
Honestly, I’d be fine with letting them compete but having them be ineligible for prizes.
When reading stuff like this quote from a high school trans wrestler, it just makes me sad for what these people have to suffer through. There has to be a better way, that doesn’t also crush real females into the ground. These are just kids. When I was that age I shot my mouth off plenty and had stupid ideas and mistakes, and needed a lot of help from adults/others just to find my way thru the world properly.
“Somebody posted they should put Mack in a men’s prison and he should be raped,” McNew said. “It has really gotten to me sometimes. He’s still a teenager, a young adult trying to find his way … Do people not have children of their own?”

It pains me to say that I think it's all too far gone at this point, and I don't think normalcy/rational thought/true fairness and equity is ever coming back. Women are the only marginalized group that are perfectly fine to degrade, rob, and discriminate against.

Or: Have them compete in the category they were born into:Boys.
I hope you are in fact trolling and aren't so dense as to completely overlook the obvious and natural category. Unfortunately the upvotes show just how far away from reason and sanity we have fallen.
What blows my mind is how the 'reporter' doesn't ask the most obvious question of all: 'Do you think it's unfair that you as a biological male are qualifying for states as a woman?'
But there was a similar situation here in Maryland a mom told me the kids on the team do not care at all. I guess they've been brainwashed since birth that everyone is the same. You can do whatever you want - biology be damned.

Yes, you are missing something. Trans people aren't BARRED from sports. We simply tell kids - sports is segregated by two things - age and biological sex. Not hard to understand.
I've never understood why it's psychologically more damaging for one biological male to be denied the 'right' to compete in the female categpory than for all of the biological females to have to lose to 5 minute biological male who would have no chance at states but now thinks 'she's' special.

It's Equality that is never coming back. The recent push for Equity is what fosters this mess.
The girl that beat him, Hanne Thomsen, is one of the top sophs in the country (9:55 at Arcadia and 4:45 as a freshman). She is the defending state 3200 champion.
Third place finisher, Elle Buckley, was #1 on Campo's 13th place NXN team and 26th overall at NXN. So it's not just a few obscure races anymore. Trans athletes are making inroads against top performing girls and this will radically change the sport.
Athletes who are 100% transitioned should always be allowed to complete.
It's been that way for a century of running and it's worked out fine and fair.
But the people in power who are now allowing athletes who aren't transitioned completely seem to be doing it on purpose to destroy any chance of acceptance, ever, for all.
This only started since 2016 when they started to tamper with the IOC rules.
