Great post, and I think it works the same way for women as well. A lot of the transgenders (most of them were kids, many on the spectrum) that came into the psych hospital I worked at typically had features more characteristic of the opposite sex, and a lot were just what we used to call "tomboys". I think what we are seeing now is less traditional neurogenetically predisposed, innate "gender dysphoria" and more of a learned sexual strategy, reinforced by the culture that says "men and women are not innately different, they're just made up concepts perpetrated by patriarchal oppressors to disadvantage women."
