Yes, very true on the Boston Marathon selfie stick violation. I presume the BAA has relaxed its stance from prior years since Ko, many others have stated they anticipated but haven't yet been contacted to remove their content.
Wish race organizers stateside would clamp down on the bikes-on-course trend, as to me it's a detriment to others' race experience just so an influencer can get content. Alex Filitti of MetaEndurance stated in a post-race video that Tokyo race organizers kept his videographer cyclist off course, so it can be done.
Granted, Tokyo's a major. I presume the cost of operating local races would become untenable if measures to keep bikes off course were implemented.
Yeah but a "Serious Runner" got contacted by the BAA to remove his (non-selfie stick) personal GoPro content.
Awww... while I'm flattered by the plug, I must again note that I really don't belong in this discussion. I don't think of myself as playing the influencer game (if I were, I'm apparently terrible at it). instead, working on some new content ideas to shake things up... and they're even less influencer-y.

Long Live the BAA 🦄
Can you confirm that your Boston Marathon video was asked to be taken down because you neglected to include an initial coffee making shot from the video? That's akin to entering an Illuminati meeting without knowing the handshake.

Thanks for reminding me of one of the most nauseating ShoeTube videos of all time the, "I went to Tokyo, Asics was paying my way so I thought they'd let me have a bicyclist who'd be my own domestique and handing me gels and bottles, but they blocked off the course! How dare they! They caused my epic meltdown at the race," video from Alex after the Tokyo Marathon.
I don't think anybody would really care if somebody had a bike at a small marathon with a couple hundred people. But at the big marathons, especially majors, it's 1. A gigantic security concern. 2. Just obnoxious.

The Relay YouTube channel has an occasional "Behind the Running Influencer" interview show (co-hosted by Kofuzi and Tommie_Runz), and the latest episode is a conversation with Phily Bowden:
In this Episode of Behind the Running Influencer, Kofuzi and Tommie Runz sit down with Phily Bowden. Phily Bowden is a pro marathoner for New Balance. She’s ...
Today was a big day in Running YouTube. Kofuzi runs a PR of 1:25:07 for the half marathon. Bowden runs a PR (by two seconds) of 2:29:14 and finished 10th. Bowden should've run CIM. 2:29:14 would've challenged for the win, and maybe won. There is more prize money in that than a 10th in Houston. But who needs prize money when you can hawk Yummo bars on YouTube!
Legit question but how does Kofuzi suck so much at running. He's been involved in running full-time for several years now, has access to whatever gear he needs, has a ton of time to train, and when he started he already looked like he was in decent shape. Like how is it possible that he is still flirting around 3hrs for the thon?

He doesn't have an incentive to run much faster. He'd start to lose his "average Joe runner" appeal.

Sub 3 definitely isn't an average runner. Most runners who are average target sub 4. To run a sub 3, you need to be able to break 19 in the 5k and 40 in the 10k and 1:26 in the half. Got to any Tracksmith 5k and the biggest heats are the ones with people trying to break 20. Those runners run ~3:15-3:30 on the marathon.
For women, sub 3 is the mark of subelite. For men, sub 3 is a very good runner--especially at Kofuzi's age (43). He probably has one more year of PRs before he starts getting slower.
As for how Kofuzi doesn't improve much, it's that he's over 40. I don't think he has much natural speed anyway and whatever was there goes away in your 40s.

While he’s not fast by our standards there’s a genetic limit for some people that’s harsher than others. He has a high volume for his marathon time, but maybe not much he can do about that. I also think it applies to how much you’re able to withstand discomfort or pain, which has to do with genetics and how you were raised. Also, he doesn’t look old, but he is not young anymore.

Maybe these guys could be faster by not doing most of their runs holding a selfie stick.

Not sure he "sucks" at running but it is surprising he hasn't run faster considering the consistent mileage he's put in over years. I don't watch him anymore but has he ever had to take any significant time off for an injury?
There must be some law of physics that stalls shoetubers at 171K. they're both still there.
Seth has been stuck at 171k for like over a year now. His engagement is really low, most of his subscribers aren’t watching (or they don’t exist). Funny enough, Seth has gone back to exactly what he said wanted to get out of… endless shoe reviews. I doubt demoor store has paid off and his other videos get paltry views compared to shoe reviews (but those are still really low too).

As someone has watched a lot of youtube running content over the years, I think SJD is the most watchable.
Kofuzi and Seth started out as hobby Dadvlog Youtubers. Kofuzi noticed more views when his vlog discussed running and pivoted to running. He encouraged Seth to do the same.
Seth's 2019-2021 exponential growth was due to the interesting content and the undersaturation of the market.
Kofuzi's recent growth is due in large part to Relay/shoetuber cross marketing. Kofuzi actually struggled with breaking 3 hours for years until he discovered consistency and higher mileage.
First master at Houston was wearing a DGR singlet. Really hurt my soul to see that at mile 24, I was running with someone who enjoys his channel :(
From what I've seen, Seth's supporters are often faster or non-beginner runners. Ben Felton ("Ben is Running"), another 2:24 marathoner, made it a point to attend Seth's Boston shakeout.
