You really don’t need exceptional genetics to get to 190lbs at 5’10” with like say 12% BF. Just need to lift and eat. Genetics probably matters for maximal muscle potential but Ryan isn’t anywhere near it.
I agree with the first part, but the last part, not so much. I think everyone has a set-point, about which lean bmi can vary, especially in the up direction. You have no idea of his natural potential for lean hypertrophy, in fact he may have exceeded it.
Look, if we’re talking real roids, he could have had these gains in 4 months. Not kidding. T is weaker, esp at typical “medical” doses.
So the guy is on test and bulks up, who cares? He’s not competing against anyone, so for him it’s a sort of recreation, or a path to self-identity. Fair enough.
I do get the point that if he’s using now, that might suggest that he was using in his competitive days. For sure it’s a factor to consider, but all the other factors must be considered. The fact that he admits to doing test is a big deal for me.
Now he might need to do it the rest of his life—just like people who take anti-anxiety and other medications, instead of going another route. Not a choice that I would ever make, but it’s his life.
What would chap my azz would be if I was somehow paying for this, through insurance payments/tax subsidies, ie just being a part of the so-called “healthcare” system. Idk.
What I do know is that I’m glad I’m not in his shoes.💪
He isn't 12 percent in that video as I have been about that in the past and never looked this lean. He is below 10 percent.
And as other stated if he dopes now why wouldn't he dope while competing. I assuming nearly all athletes at the world level in athletics do the Salazar gray zone.

Sure, I don’t know what his intrinsic muscle mass limits are, but it does seem unlikely to me that most any man of at least average height, can’t get to 200 lbs/12% BF with proper training, diet, and time. He certainly seems to be devoting a lot of time to it, perhaps near full time. Achieving both 200+ lbs and a specific very low BF target like say 7% (or even visible six-pack level for some) might be hard or impossible naturally.
In any case, agree he seems to be a recreational body builder, so he’s not hurting anyone by doing drugs, and if he is, his physique is even less remarkable.

I’d say I’m more impressed with Kevin’s transformation at 50+ something years old. Would love to see a celebrity boxing match between Hadsell and Hall. Looks like he had to get in crazy shape for a new movie. Say what you want about Kevin, it’s impressive what he’s done with his life after publicly destroying his coaching career.
the reason he quit competitive running was due to low levels of testosterones. i hate to speculate on someone's personal life, but i think the reason why he adopted so many kids is because he is unable to have his own biological kids due to his testosterone levels.
Probably on trt if he otherwise needs it, but I wouldn't say he is beyond what is healthy for him. It is waaaaaaay easier looking like he does while being natural than running 2:04-2:06 naturally. Hell, it's way way easier running 2:12 in the marathon than looking as he does. (That's why I don't do marathons). Just using the fact he looks like he does as a basis he is on gear is like saying anyone sub 2:40 is on PEDs.
