Needs to pick up now for Grant. That was just a 67, they need more like 62s to string it out. If it's a last lap burn up, likely not his best chance.
Think I picked Chelimo in the contest against my better judgment that Barega was maybe slightly more likely to win, now I think he's solidly more likely. 50% Barega, 30% Chep, 20% other, 20 min in.

It’s not gutsy to run almost a minute over your PR in great conditions and then run the 400 meter dash rather than running the 10k.
Not sure what Ahmed was doing. Just sitting right in the back the whole way with the pack three wide. Never going to be able to compete with that starting position with 400-60 0to go. I don't think he had the gears in the end but have to put yourself in the position to go for it.
Agreed. He ran awesome - hit fitness is clearly there - but he spotted a few steps to everyone going into the last lap and that was the difference between 4th and a medal. He's now good enough to kick with the best but he's not good enough to kick better than them and make up ground.
