Thanks, a link directly to it. The other threads are worth checking too, but after a while it's much the same thing being said over and over. Doesn't look like it'll change anything and athlete and coach seem to have accepted their fate that they are going to the much lower grade comp in Birmingham. Such is life.
Isn't interesting the there are no Bideau supporters at all on this thread? On the BTC threads there are always a few diehard fans (or their athletes??) that preach them no matter what. Why do not even the MTC athletes come here to defend their coach?
Possibly because he holds the balance of power for their current contracts and sponsorships. Not many of Nic's ex-athletes have been able to keep their current contracts for long after the split.

As a former journalist with major national newspapers, Bideau is also a 'choice' athletics media source of information. It is the reason this case will be swept under the news carpet, whereas the Genevieve Gregson nee Lacaze saga (an athlete he represented) was made national news headlines in Australia. His influence stretches far and wide.

You’re wrong this link lists the world ranking irrespective of country so there are more than 3 listed from various countries. Obviously only 3 can from each country. So when you filter out the additional athletes over and above the 3 from each country Abbey was in a qualifying position last year and was overlooked for an injured athlete. Simples.
No Aurore FLEURY of France would have got the last world ranking spot (accounting for the 3 per country rule) if Griffith declined, and she was ranked ahead of Abby. Sorry but you miscounted. The field is set to 45.
There's a vested interest here for Aussie athletes to ensure that this doesn't happen again and that selection procedures are transparent. They should coordinate action and issue an intention to collectively withdraw from Eugene if the selection process is not respected. It might mean missing a World Champs but NGBs will not change unless they are forced to do so. In this case, they need to be embarrassed by not having a team to represent the country.
Everyone can see that this stinks and athletes need to be united to show that they won't stand for it.
yes,but she's going to the commonwealth games, and they are a big deal in australia.if she wins gold she'll become a household name very quickly.

That's correct. Blanket TV coverage free to air of the Commonwealth Games in Australia, not so for the World Championships. The average punter thinks the Commonwealth Games is second in importance to the Olympics.

The World Athletics Championships will take place on American soil for the very first time next month and SBS is the perfect place to catch all the action.

Nic’s athletes know that he is a horrible person with lots of skeletons in his closet. They don’t defend him because they don’t like him either. They stay because unfortunately there aren’t many other coaching options and certainly no options if you’re looking for a training group.
As for people claiming he’s a great agent, I’d suspect Stewy is the only one making a decent amount of money but that is partly because he is raced to death. The rest would be on gear and maybe bonuses to make it appear like Nic is some magic agent.
the commonwealth games are much better known in australia than the world athletics championships ,which is why abby caldwell, and her coach probably wont mind,or complain.if she medals, she'll become a big deal.similarly,as far as i know the best ugandan marathoners are bypassing the world championships for the commonwealth games.also throw in british athletes, who may not all be able to compete in commonwealth games, world championships or european championships.

Bideau is an expert at squeezing money out of his athletes. He has rental units around the world (eg London) and has his athletes stay at them, paying him, rather than cheaper options (not owned by him). This is not an insignificant expense since many of his athletes are on bare bones contracts (like $20,000usd a year or less). If you don't follow the team itinerary to try cut corners financially you get grief. Everyone knows he will favour putting you in the race that favours him financially rather than what you need as an opportunity to run well. Eg Diamond League A will give appearance fee to a different NB athlete, or let in more NB athletes than DL B, so even though an athlete might have a better shot at a good time in DL B, he enters everyone into DL A as better for his 15% cut.
So yeah, I'm not surprised he has current athletes not tripping over themselves to defend him. He has great connections in Australia and globally so they suck it up for the sake of their short careers.
Still can't believe WA haven't made it so that agents can't coach their own athletes. It's a massive conflict of interest.
