Nobody said that. Girls have gotten faster. Hutchins and Cook already have broken records and many others will go down over the next 2 years. Tuohy's name will likely be wioed off of the record boards. That doesn't mean that she didn't win way more events. But if Tuohy had come along 4 years later, she would be just one of a handful of elite runners.
Indeed girls has gotten faster, records will fall surely.
but what make katelyn tuohy special is that she was so dominant and continued to be so dominant and win for so many years, the girls like Jenna and Natalie are fast but they are only good at to 1-2 distances.. it would take 4 to 5 elite high school distance runners to take down all of tuohy's records
girls has gotten faster but I don't see anyone beating tuohy's records all by herself, in mile, 3000m,3200m, i5000 and many more age group records she holds
girls have gotten faster but tuohy's records still stands... the xc record she held as fastest 5k time isn't really a broken record because courses vary.. Jenna Hutchins is fast but we didnt see her running 9:01 3k, we didn't see her run 4:33 1 mile, we didn't really see Jenna Hutchins run much her highscbool career, it was all hype.. And she never really even went up with hs competition.. She has never really fully proven herself with competition, tuohy did.
America now has many phenomenally fast young distance runners, then there's Katelyn Tuohy.
